Esther Perone, 89, of Avondale, Ohio died at 12:43 a.m. Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Genesis-Good Samaritan Emergency Room, Zanesville, Ohio.
She was born on December 7, 1920 in South Zanesville, Ohio. She lived in Avondale, Ohio for 61 years.
She retired from Hart's Dept Store in 1985.
She was a member of Rollling Plains United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and was active in the Women's Society.
She was also a member of the Good Sam Camping Club.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James "Eddie" Perone of the home; three daughters, Janice Byers of Zanesville, Becky Perone of Zanesville, and Debby Perone of Canal Winchester, Ohio; two sons, James (Linda) Perone of Zanesville and Jon Perone of Hartfield, VA; six grandchildren, Stephanie Perone, Trisha Moore, Shaun Williams, Shane Williams, Aaron Lamb and Angela Lamb; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Swank, Catherine Davis, and Dorothy Howard all of Zanesville, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Adelia Wheeler Nutt; one daughter, Marsha Nash; three brothers, Gerald Nutt, Harold Nutt, Jr. and Homer Nutt.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home, 5765 Gladstone Dr., White Cottage, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
