My maternal grandmothers name was Selena Pertzle. She married Joe Harrison and they had a daughter named Joyce. Joyce was my maternal grandmother. They lived in Victoria, Australia. I dont know where Selena came from. As Pertzle is not a common name, any information would be of a great help.

this is in response to your inquiry regarding the surname pertzsch. I am a born pertzsch from hamburg germany. My father was a pertzsch also born in a town called leipzig germany. I have recently come in to possession of two family pictures of pertzsch family taken in germany within the past 20 years. if you think that i can help you or you can help me please let me know. thank you..

Just a note to let you know that I received two photographs from a lady that knew my father back in germany 40 odd years ago .These pictures are of my fathers brother and his wife,one is dated july 1973 and the other is dated1984,other than the pics I have now run into a brick wall as to how to find my uncle as he is the only one that could tell me about my deceased father. Hi there! My name is Monika Pertzsch, I was born in Hamburg Germany. My father was Werner Pertzsch, born in Leipzig, date unknown.His brother is gherhard who was last living in hamburg. My father had returned to leipzig where he was hit by a car and died roughly within the past 5 years. L never knew the man as my parents divorced in 1956 at which time my mother brought me to canada..I am presently trying to locate family members but it is very hard as I only have limited information.If you can help me or I can help you please contact me. I don't know if the spelling was ever changed, this was the way my ancestors spelled it

Interesting....I have never heard of this variation of the spelling before. My last name is Pertschy, variations of it include Pertschi, Pertsch, Bertschy, Bertschi, Bertsch. All my Pertschy relatives were from Yugoslavia. Was the spelling of the name changed when the first person immigrated to the US?

I'm a family genealogist looking for descendants of Walter
Christian PERTZSCH, born 20 September 1867 in La Crosse, WI. He
was the only son of Johann Christian PERTZSCH and Caroline
SOMMERFELD, both of whom are buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, La
Crosse, WI.

As far as I know, all persons named Pertzsch in the United States
today are descended from this one individual.

I am hoping to trace the Pertzsches back to their place of origin
in Germany. Perhaps your family has inherited old photographs,
newspaper clippings or other information that could help.
