Re: INFORMATION ON PESCH FAMILY IN IOWA

Janet,

I don't know if you are still searching for information on Herbert Pesch, but I have a photo of a Herbert Pesch that would have been taken sometime in the early-mid 1920's. He is with my Grandmother, Marie Gallery; her sister, Teresa (Tess) Gallery; Dora Slek, Helen Buresh and a Mrs. Prooter. I believe the photos were taken somewhere in Iowa. (My family is from Iowa.)

He appears to be roughly the same age as my Grandmother (b. 1899.) I may have someother photos of him as well -- I'm going through photos I got from my Grandmother. She had the photos labeled.

Maybe this is the Herbert you are looking for? If so, I'd be happy to send you electronic copies of any photos I have of him.

Forrest, you mentioned that your ancestor, John Pesch lived in Fredonia. My great-grandfather was Henry Pesch who was a farmer in Fredonia. He married Elisabeth Beckius in the village of Waubeka, Ozaukee County on May 17, 1867. Henry's parents were Dominik Pesch and Barbara Nepesch or Nepish. Orginally my Aunt Gert said her name was Paszki, but more sources point to Pesch. Magdelena Pesch b. 1857 Poland, Germany d. 1941 Chicago, Il. She actually lived in the apartment downstairs from me, but before my time. She was married to August Parchem. They had childern: August, Joseph, Julius, Elizabeth, Gabriella, Mary Parchem. I know little more. Thanks, Joe Jeka

Dear Forrest, I have been researching my family history and it seems my Great Grandmother was named Pesch, although this has not yet been confirmed.

Hi Joe, I know a couple of Joe Peschs and wonder if you are one of them. One lives in Wisconsin and the other in Texas.
As far as I can determine my G- Grandffather came from Belgium in 1846.I have been unable to make any connections in Belgium yet. My first official document is his intent to become a citizen and he listed Belgium as his place of birth. No other offial docments other than deeds and census have been found. I am in contact with other Pesch Families that are having the same problem. Please contact me at opapesch@centex.net Regards, Forrest
