I am searching for relatives of US Army Air Force T/Sgt. George E. Peters, of Columbus, Ohio, who served as a waist gunner on the B-24 "Hell from Heaven", which was lost while returning from a mission against Iwo Jima on January 17, 1945. A cousin of that aircraft's bombardier, 1st Lt. Raymond Behrend, is writing a book about the crew, and I'm providing research assistance to him. Part of that assistance is locating crew member relatives, who may be able to provide information to the author for this book. T/Sgt. Peters listed his next of kin as his wife, Mrs. Marcia R.
