Jane Elizabeth Peterson, 94,
of the Masonic Village at Sewickley, Aleppo, died Friday, May 9, 2008. Jane was born April 30, 1914, in Wilcox, Elk County. She and her late husband, Carl Alfred Peterson, were childhood sweethearts who grew up in Wilcox and later resided in the North Hills for more than 55 years. Jane graduated from Wilcox High School and Drexel University and enjoyed a teaching career before raising her family. She was a member of the White Oak Heights Women's Club and Elfinwild Presbyterian Church and was accomplished in many activities, especially sewing, ceramics, arts and crafts and gardening. Jane was an avid Pitt basketball fan, and she and her husband enjoyed camping, fishing and the outdoors. They were especially fond of the Rocky Mountains and traveled for many years in their Airstream trailer to their favorite spot, Glacier National Park, Montana. Surviving are daughters Marcia Klepac, Cynthia Peterson-Handley and Laurie Fullerton and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 30, in the Masonic Village Clubhouse Assembly Room.
