Lawrens Peterson and Nancy Jones Peterson

I've noticed several queries to this regard and thought I should post findings:

Lawrens Peterson born Aberdeenshire Scotland 1741, died Virgina 1801. Son of Angus Laurin Peterson (said to have fought at Culloden with either Stewarts or MacLaurins) and Hannah Stewart. Lawrens married Nancy Jones of Kirkcudbright Scotland (sister to John Paul Jones) before coming to Virginia in 1759. Lawrens and Nancy had three children that lived beyond their first year: Nancy, Henry and William.

Lemuel is often cited as being in this generation however further research shows he was not born until 1815 and died in 1879.

Together they raised five children.
Dick was employed for I.P.S. and MidAmerican Energy for nearly forty years before his retirement in 1994. After his retirement, he drove the Regional Transit Authority bus. Jan was employed as a bookkeeper prior to their marriage and after she was married she worked at Schaffer’s Shabby Shack, the Highway Café and Mrs. O’s.
Dick and Jan were both active members of their community. Dick served on the City Council, Palo Alto County Conservation Board, Ruthven Library Board, school board, Lions Club, Ruthven Fire Department and Ruthven American Legion. He had been a Boy Scout leader when his boys were small. In his years working for the power company everyone in the county knew they could call Dick for assistance any time; day or night, no matter the weather. He took great pride in his responsibilities for the care and transportation he provided through Rides.
Dick and Jan died Thursday, October 18, 2007 at their home in Ruthven.
family geneology book

I have a book called "The Olden Days" by LaVerne Hutchins Bish published in 1973. It is a Henderson family history. However, a great deal of research is in this book regarding the Pedersen/Peterson lineage from my gggrandmother. Jens Pedersen, his wife Zine Kjerstine Poulsen, and their daughter Karen Marie Pedersen immigrated to the US by ship in 1871, arriving in the Spring. They Anglicized their names to John, Christine and Mary Catherine. She married Alphaeus Fletcher Henderson. Jen's father was Peder Pederson, married to Mette Marie Christendatter, daughter of Christen Pedersen and Kirsten Sorensen. They were Peder and Mette were married in 1826. parents were Peder Pedersen and Else Anderdatter. There is much more information. There are also pictures of people and some places.
I plan to have a copy of the book made soon (reprinting). If anyone is interested in a copy of this book, please contact me.

Peterson, Lemuel

28 March, 2001. Seek proof of parents of Lemuel Peterson, born 1764, presumably in Cumberland Co, NJ. In his application for a Revolutionary War pension, which was rejected, he claims he "left his father's house in Cumberland Co, NJ in 1785 to become a privateer". One unsourced old family history book names siblings Henry, William and Jane. Located Henry and William's baptismal records, but none for Lemuel or Jane. Was his father Laurens Peterson? Did Laurens move from Cumberland Co NJ to Gloucester Co NJ? Was Lemuel perhaps born in Gloucester Co and moved back to Cumberland Co? This Henry and William moved to WV, then descendants of one on to KY. Lemuel moved to Deleware, then Ohio territory, then Indiana, then Illinois where he died sometime before 1850. Lemuel was apparently much married, with at least 4 wives and possibly 15 children. Any assistance will be sincerely appreciated. rshep70683@aol.com

Charles Anton Peterson, Manistee, MI 1880's

I am searching for any information regarding my great-grandfather, Charles Anton Peterson, born in March of 1865 in Norway. He emigrated to Manistee, MI about 1882 and married Hannah (possibly Hanne or Hanna)Pedersen from Denmark. She had a child, Gertie, from a previous marriage, and together they had sons Engwald "Ink", Tony and Carl, and daughters Agnes, Hannah, Elna and Anne. I have heard that Charles had a brother who lived nearby, and sisters who visited him in Manistee, but did not live there.

I found an LDS record of a Charles Anton Peterson that fits my profile. His parents are listed as Andrew Peterson and Sarah Anderson, and he is shown with a younger sister Carrie Peterson, born March 14, 1872 who died in Norwalk, CA on December 8, 1946. Any information that could help me either keep or discard this link would be appreciated, along with any other information on these people.
Hazel I. Petersen b. 1903 to Peter Petersen & Clara Bowden

I am trying to find out what happened to Hazel I. Petersen.

She was born in 1903 in Sabula, Jackson County Iowa to Peter Petersen and Clara Bowden.

From what I have found, her father Peter died after the 1905 Iowa Census and before the 1910 US Federal Census.

Her mother, half brother Albert Swift Petersen and her uncle Joseph Bowden were listed on the 1910 US Federal Census for New Lyme, Monroe Co, WI.

From there, Hazel, her mother, half brother and even uncle have eluded me.

I wouldn't mind if you had information for any or all of them, for that matter !

I am willing to share all of Hazel's parents information that I have, which is quite extensive.

NOTE: Hazel's father Peter has been listed with 2 different middle initials : Peter N. and Peter T.
and with 2 differing spellings of Petersen. They are Petersen and Peterson...and the way it was spelled at one time in Denmark was Pedersen. I have a great deal of data and research for this Petersen/Peterson branch going back to the 1800's in Egved, Vejele, Denmark...including an aerial photo of the old family farm there.

I can be reached at my forever email account of callaway525@msn.com

Thanks,
Lori Callaway
Clarence Peterson

I was given a box with pictures of my Mother-In-Law's family when she passed away a couple of years ago. I came across a picture of a Clarence Peterson. I think around WW2 he is in Milatry uniform. Clarence is standing next to man name Ed (unreadable last name.) I think that this pictures was taken North Dakota. I am willing to send it to a remaining family member, for I believe he is just a friend of my mother-in-laws family.
My email is fayth@blackfoot,net
