Mt name is Mike Smith, I am married to the former Mary Ann Sleime of Wheeling WV. She and her brothers, Herb, Charles and Mitchell are trying to get some answers to hoe thier family is connected. They all wee raised in Wheeling, but now live in other towns around the US. Thier fathers name was Mitchell J. Sleime, mother Mary (Elijah) Sleime. The brothers name was Joseph (Charlie) Sleime. My uncle was John Calvin Petross who married Loretta Sarah Elliott in Lono, Arkansas on 13 November 1912. John Calvin was a brother to Denver Colorado and William Edward (Bud). I am having a hard time finding John Calvin's mother and Dad. Do you have that information and possibly the marriage date and place?I have family of John and Loretta and would be glad to share this.

John Petros 1883-1926

Anyone have a John Petros, b. 1883 and d. 1926, in their line?! I have a photo of a tombstone showing this info, as well as a portrait on the stone itself. I found this while cleaning out my grandmother's home, but have no clue who he was or how he fits into the story. There are no Petros relations to my knowledge, so I'm wondering if he wasn't a friend of someone in the family. The house was always in the same family, and numerous generations lived there, so it could really have belonged to anyone! There are no other identifying marks on the picture, not even as to the location of the cemetery.

My name is Joseph Edward Pettross, born in 1970. I am the son of Ronnie Lowe Pettross and Virginia Delaney (Herndon was her maiden name). My wife is Kerry Marie Pettross, born in 1976. We have a son named Corbin Andrew Pettross, born in 2000 and another son whose name will be Sidney Lee Pettross who is due to be born in December this year. We are naming him after his Great Grandfather on both sides of our family. We live in Mt. Juliet, TN.

I have a brother fathered by Ronnie Lowe Pettross Sr., Ronnie Lowe Pettross Jr., born in 1969. (He may have contacted you a few years ago to add us to the family tree, but I didn't see our names on the list.) His wife is Laura Pettross. Their son is Nicholas Lowe Pettross, born in 1998. They live in Jacksonville, FL.

I have another brother adopted by Ronnie Lowe Pettross, Sr. His name is Michael Lee Pettross, born in 1964. His wife is Samantha Pettross. Michael has a daughter named Christina Danielle Pettross, born in 1986. They live in Jacksonville, FL.

DOes anyone have information on the family and descendants of Edward (1887-1957) and Budora (Sleime) Petros of Wheeling WV? He ran a tire business there? Their children were Asper (died 1946 in car accident), FLorence, Mary, Lee, Phillip, Peter, MOses and Sam. I married a granddaughter (Kathy Petros).

I am trying to locate any information on Jospeh petotos, Petaros. He married Katerina Kopac in St. Louis in St. johns Croation Church and died in St. Louis and is buried in Calvary Cemetery. I believe my Petross line is connected to the
Peatross family of virginia.
The 1850 census of Dekalb County, TN list
James Petross age 45, with his wife Jane age
28, and children Christopher age 10, Charlot
age 6, John age 3, Josephine age 1, and
Elizabeth age 17. I would doubt that
Elizabeth is Jane's daughter because of
their ages but she may be a relative of
James or a daughter from a previous marriage.
The census indicates that James was a farmer
and that he was born in VA and the rest of
the family was born in TN.

I am searching for any information on the
ancestors of Denver Colorado Petross. I do
not have any facts on him. I have been told
by my grandfather who is now deceased that
he was the first born in the United states
and that he was named for the town and state
that he was born in. I have also been told
that it is possible that our family name was
changed from Petroski or Petroff. I know that D.C.Petross married a Mary Fish and they
resided in a rural area outside of Mena Arkansas. I do not know the names of either
parties parents. If any of the information I
have entered sounds familiar to anyone please
