I am researching my family in the UK. Recently, I came across letters written in 1900 by a Benjamin Petty of 2413 N 9th St., St Louis Mo. to an unnamed female relative of mine in the UK, referred to simply as "sister" . He ran a business called Benjamin Petty & Son providing "Whitening, Plastering, Bricklaying, Staining, Tuck pointing, Paving and General Jobbing" services! From the letters, I can work out that he had siblings named Rachel, John and Mary (deceased 1893) and the unnamed sister. He had three sons called Benjamin George, William and David.
