I am a member of the Sons of the American Revolution who is helping a William Peyton descendant document his lineage so he may join the SAR. This William Peyton was born 1753 in Loudoun Co, VA and married Mary Ross on 22 Feb 1780.

Does anyone have source documentary evidence that William Peyton was in the Revolution, such as a soldier roster, pension application, etc.? My applicant's records state that William was a private in the 5th Virginia Regiment of Foot.

By the way, we need to prove that Craven Peyton, born 20 Oct 1794 and who married Sallie Fleming Paine, was William's son. Is there a will or other document showing this relationship?

Please respond to me at LaCornwell@aol.com if you can help. Thanks!
