James J. Pfadt, age 63, of Edinboro.PA,
passed away peacefully at home from complications of ALS Monday, March 7, 2011.
He was born October 15, 1947 in Erie the son of the late James A. and Kathryn Crowley Pfadt. James grew up on West 9th street in Erie and later he and his family moved to Edinboro where they resided for almost 30 years. He spent a career in the automotive parts aftermarket and retired from Erie Truck and Trailer in October of 2010. Jim loved the outdoors and was most happy when he was working in his gardens or spending time at camp walking through the Allegheny National Forest. He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Linda Loper Pfadt and two sons; Garrett K. Pfadt and his wife Megan of Hermitage, Pa. and Jeremy W. Pfadt and his wife Jacqueline of Lyndhurst, Ohio. Also surviving are two granddaughters; Slade Elizabeth and Brynle Moss of Hermitage along with a sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Friends are invited to call at the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St. Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Andrew Catholic Church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to MDA/ALS Division of Erie, 2810 W.21st St. # 12, Erie, PA 16506-6907; The ALS Association of Northern Ohio chapter, 2500 East 22nd St., Suite 102, Cleveland, OH 44115, or to a charity of one's choice.
