Thank you for reply. If there is some way you can document that Anna Pfeffer was the daughter of John Pfeffer who had been born in Württemberg 5 Oct 1853 I can give you a great deal of info about the village of his birth in Germany and trace your ancestors into the 17th century. Example: Do you have death info of your great grandmother such as death certificate. Perhaps she was buried in same cemetery as her father. Prefer reply direct at djsautter@aol.com. My interest is specifically related to those from the small village in Germany which suffered greatly from poverty in the 18th century. Not part of my study is fact that I would be distantly related.

I am originally from the Evansville, IN area. Your Grandmother Verena was named after her grandmother Verena (Wigger)Pfeffer who, to the best of my knowledge had come from Obeier, now in the Slovak Republic. Verena (Wigger) Pfeffer was married to Joseph John Pfeffer. Your grandmother Verena Pfeffer's father was Frank "Peck" Pfeffer- son of Verena (Wigger) Pfeffer and Joseph John Pfeffer of Evansville. Her uncle EDWARD is my grandfather. Frank moved to Newark from the Evansville area around the year 1905. She also had an uncle Henry Pfeffer who lived in Newark until he died in 1981 at age 101. Wildly enough, with no prior knowledge of the Pfeffer - Newark, Ohio connection, I moved to Newark in 1998. I had no idea until my Mother passed away and I found new clues that I had relatives in my adopted home town. I hope this helps. Verena's father Frank and Mother Eva (Wilhelm) Pfeffer are buried in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Newark. Henry Pfeffer is also buried there. Many other Pfeffer family members are buried in Evansville's St. Joseph Cemetery along with my parents, Henry J. (son of Edward Pfeffer) and Leonetta L. Pfeffer. Hello, 4th cousin! AND GO BUCKS!!

I was born Aug 08, 1968 in Brooklyn, NY (NY City). As I was told, I was adopted right out of Peck Memorial Hospital in Brooklyn, NY (NY City). My adoption papers have my birth name as "Male Pfeffer". I confirmed my birth name and my birth mothers maiden name both as "Pfeffer" via the NY city birth index. My birth mothers 1st name "may" be Janet but that could be wrong. My older sister was adopted as well, born Jan 28, 1967. We both came from the same birth mother, same hospital. My sister's birth name confirmed as "Female Pfeffer". The lawyer that handled both adoptions is Leonard N. Tarr. Anyone with ANY info, PLEASE contact wanttofish@optonline.net. This is important to us. Thank you very much in advance.

According to his Petition for Naturalization he is listed as Morris Pfeffer and departed Rotterdam on 13 Dec 1920 and arrived in NYC on 20 Dec 1920 aboard the Nieuw Amsterdam. On the passenger list he is listed as Moses Pfeffer. If you do not have access I could send them to you if I had your e-mail address. Don

Unfortunately, my father was not very close to him, and he dies long before I got to know him.

Hi Jonathan, I just joined Ances.Com. I am trying to trace my Pfeffer lineage into the present. My ancester Czarna Neuman (might have been Americanized to "Celia?) married Abraham Pfeffer. It now seems that the family may have come to either Poland or Austria from origins in the Ukraine. They gave birth to a daughter named Klara Jetka Pfeffer, b.1896, & a son Nuchim (possibly called "Nathan") born in 1898. On Ancestry.com I am finding a family that looks like a match, but many more younger siblings are listed. Since I don't know what happened to this line, it might well be my family. Please let me know if any of this sounds like your Pfeffer Family?
Best, Jeannette Nemon-Fischman

I am looking for any Pfeffers that were in Illinois in the early 1900. My grandfather Clarence Keith was the illegitimate son of Clara Pfeffer. He was born 3/13/1924, she was 36 when he was born. There was an older sister, Louis (m-Spans). Clarence was given to an orphanage at about the age of 6. Since I doubt that I will ever find out who his father was, I want to get as much on his mother.
My great grandfather was known as Philip Fidel Pfeffer, but my mother has him listed as John Philip Pfeffer in my sister's baby book. Philip was born 1 Jan 1854 in Louisville, Jefferson, Kentucky. His relatives owned a brewery in Germany. He married Lucinda Mills in Illinois and lived in Uniontown, KY on the 1880 census. We understand from family that his father came to America as a 12 yr old child. Lucinda was born in Tennessee and raised in Indiana. Does your bible make reference to any of this? Thanks, Carolyn
