Have you been able to put the families together using Philbert Sources? If not, I will send you "my take." The reason I did not list them that way on the Internet is they are often incorrectly copied, then sent around causing more confusion than really helping.

The Philbert family that recently moved from Santa Rosa, CA were descended from Charles Philbert, the stage coach driver. Charles was a brother to Wharton/Horton Philbert. He used to visit one of my aunts (Ethel Philbert Campbell) who was a granddaughter of Wharton/Horton and Anna Blend (originally, Blindt) Philbert.

This Philbert family came to California from Linn Co., MO in the 1850s.

I have recently put up a web site at Roots Free Pages called Philbert Sources listing sources for my research collected on the Philbert family since 1978 whose earliest known records are in Maryland abt. 1722.

Hope these sources and links will help other researchers.

I am a desendant of Luke and Nancy Lane Philbert who lived in Owen Co., IN, through their son, Luke Philbert who married Hannah Bush, moved to Linn Co., MO, then on to CA in the mid 1850s. I believe our Philbert family was the earliest of the Philbert families to live in California.

I have recently discovered that many of Benjamin Philbert's descendants lived in MO from the 1830s--mostly in Gentry Co., MO, and their name was consistently spelled Filbert on records there. Also, Susan Philbert, who married Abraham Goldman in KY lived in Pike Co., MO, and many of their descendants continued to life there.

Archibald Philbert lived in Lunenburg Co., VA and some of his descendants moved to Alabama.

I am looking for information on Cynthia Philbert born 1-2--1831 in Owen Co,In. I have been told she was the daughter of Luke Philbert and Nancy Lane Philbert ( daughter of Precious Lane). This is unconfimred. Cynthia Married Stephen Scott in Owen Co on 9-6-1849.I have considerable info on thier descendents. I belive she had brothers named Joel, Horton, A sister Nancy and 6 other sisters. Would like to hear from anyone having knowledge of any of these Philbert family members.
