Re: Maria PHILIPPE

Hi Linda, This is probably going to be a long shot for me as well as you. But that's all I have at this point. My great grandmother was a Marie(Mary) Philippi. She married my great grandfather Nicholas Philippi. Both seem to be born in or about the year 1838. Someone latley sent me a U.S. census from Cook, Co. Illinois. They had 6 children that were listed as follows: Mathias(my grandfather),Maria b. 1871,Franz b. 1873, Catherine b. 1875, John b. 1878, and Gertruda(Gertrude/). All were born in Chicago, Ill. Other than my grandfather Mathias that's all I know. I do have a John listed on my father's baptism papers from Chicago in 1913, but other than that I'm lost too. Maybe we can help each other. Write me back and lets compare ! at julie45ala@myexcel.com I'll be waiting to hear from you.

I am needing help to locate my grandfather's parents and sibling's Nicholas and Maria(Mary) are from Prussia both born in 1838. There children were all born in Chicago, Ill. in this order, Mathias Philippe was born jan. 26,1868(he's my grandfather), Maria was born in 1871, Franz was born 1873, Catherina was born 1875, John was born 1878, and Gertruda was born 1879. At that time it seems the surname was spelled Philippe but sometime later was changed to Philippi. At least by my grandfather's baptismal certificate i have. My granfather married Elisabeth Leyendecker in Chicago,Cook Co. on June 14, 1893. Years later they moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I do have some other information. But so far does any of this sound like any of your relative's, if so would you please e-mail me at julie45ala@myexcel.com I sure would appreciate it.

I am looking for information on my g-g grandparents, Maria PHILIPPE and James WHITE. The only information I have is that they had at least one daughter, Rosana WHITE, who married Evariste E. BOURGEOIS on June 15, 1875 in Bay St. Louis, MS. Rosana's date of birth is unknown; Evariste was born 3/1/1852 in Hancock County, MS.

Based on the marriage date of Rosana Evariste, I estimate that her parents (James WHITE and Maria PHILIPPE) would have been born in the 1820-1835 timeframe. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I am the descendant of Julius Delmege, Dolmage just getting new info ... will check my Breton dictionary though there is currently a Francois Gorrequer performing near Versailles recently.... I enjoy doing genealogy and historical mapping despite my deafness since birth and very BAAAAAD on French language but do try to find ways if possible. I did get a shock when my mother, my sister and I visited my American kin renting a lovely cottage in French border off lac de Leman near Geneva back in 1960 while attending my British deaf school and my sister in another school ... but I do scoop in all nuggets of info... Has a fax available for Gorriquer performance... Please do contract me..has also some Breton books as well know a wife of my fine British deaf classmate.. Hey Im an American!

Sandra:
My Philippe relation is Mildred (Philippe) Carolus, my mother's adoptive mother. (take a second for that to make sense) I took the information you gave me in your last note and will promptly ask her about it. She doesnt like to talk about her family that much...but I seem to have a way with her, and can probably get some information regarding this. However, she may not know that much. She grew up with her parents and brothers and sisters in St. Joseph Missouri on a farm...I dont know what kind of contact they had with other family memebers. Shes turning 81 this year, and although still in good health, I'm doing my best to get as much family information out of her while I have the chance. Since my mother was adopted, and I was adopted by her husband, we have a lot of lost information we have been looking for for years. Thank you for your information, I hope what I find will be helpful to both of us. Good luck. -Allison (Carolus) Person

My 4xgrandmother Anna Philippe [born abt 1811] married William Duncan [born abt 1807]. The UK 1881 census lists Anna's birthplace as Pimlico, London. They were married in 1828, St. Martins-in-the-Fields, Westminster, London [source: IGI batch M001454].
Children were:
Annie Maria Billinder (or Belinda), abt 1834,
Amelia, abt 1836,
Elizabeth, abt 1839,
Sarah, abt 1841,
Louisa, abt 1843, and
William, abt 1850.

Do any of these names show up on anyone else's research?
I would be grateful for any help on furthering these Duncan and Philippe lines.
Hi Roy.

You must be a descendant of James and Marie Guertin then. Do you have information on James' parents, James and Marie VanHousin? I know Marie VH was burried in Masham in 1857.

Fred, Harold, Trevor Philippe in Australia

Looking for descendants of the above people. I believe Fred had two children Harold & Trevor (to Caroline), both of whom are now deceased? Apparently one brother was married with no children, the other married with adopted children. Their half sister is still living, though they would never have been aware that they had one, nor was she aware of their existence until recently.
Thanks, Peta
