Dorothy E. (Philo) Hunt Obit
ADRIAN — Dorothy E. Hunt, 84, of Adrian died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility.
She was born Jan. 31, 1923, in Onsted, Mich., the daughter of Everett and Jessie (Oberlin) Philo. She married Merle E. Hunt on May 30, 1941, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 2003.
Dorothy lived in Clinton for 42 years where she helped organize the first Little League ball teams in the area. She owned Stuff & Things and Blue Dot Team Club in Clinton. Dorothy was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #85 in Tecumseh and a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Chapter 20 of Adrian. She attended the Clinton United Methodist Church.
Dorothy is survived by two sons, David (Mary) Hunt of Clinton and Terry (Debbie) Hunt of Tampa, Fla.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one granddaughter.
Funeral services for Dorothy will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes with the Rev. Lloyd Jewett officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.handlerfuneralhomes.com.
