My father in law was Michele Piacentini b. abt 1923 Egypt. His parents immigrated to Egypt from Malta and had 5 sons. Two immigrated to Australia (Michele and Joseph) along with their mother later in her life. The other three boys went to America. Their father had died in Egypt when Michele was small. He was also the youngest
Michele use to say that his family had originaally lived in Piacenza Italy but his grandfather or g/grandfather had moved them to Malta.
I have not been able to find anything for the Piacentinis in Egypt or Mslta, am not even sure if the 5 boys were all born in Egypt or some in Malta.
Regards Cherylle
Hi, I'm curious about my relatives. I come from the surname of Petrocco but am kind of in the dark on that side of the family. I would like to know any connections or history.

My grandmother remarried and took the surname Beckmann, this left my father with that name and I am stuck with it as well. I would like to know about my real roots, though.

Pasquale Piacentini in CT

I am looking for information on Pasquale Piacentini. He is my Great Grandfather. According to the 1930 Census, he lived in New Haven, CT on Layfegette street with his son Ronald, Daughter Rena and my Grandmother Dora. Pasquale was married to Mary Fabian (Fabbiani) but she passed away prior to 1930. According to the census, Pasquale was 44 in 1930 which would put his birth abt. 1886 in Italy. I have also seen the surname Pacenti used. That is all the information I have, if anyone knows anything about this family I would appreciate any information!
Thanks
Chris

Then it's a pretty good possibility that we might be related. The name Filomena rings a bell for some odd reason (but not Clino). The town is pretty small (I have been there twice) but very picturesque and I remember when My Dad (Philip) and I went there. The minute the whole town found out we were Piacentini's, We had nothing but non stop partying at the houses and only 1 meal (Which lasted 8 hours!.) We had a great time.

it is great to read about the other piacentinis in the U.S. My grandfather was Giuseppe Piacentini, born in San Bonifacio, Italy. He came to the United States in the early 1920s and settled in Marlboro, Ny in the Hudson Valley where he worked for a mining company. His wife, Angela Pesavento Piacentini, followed him with three children in tow, Luigi, Anna and Alberto. They had four more children: Giuseppe (died at 12 yrs of age), Ida (died as an infant) and Ida and Mario (twins) My mother was Ida who died in 1998. My great grandfather was a delivery man in Italy who died in an accident. My grandfather had one sister who came to the US, Maria. I know he had a sister, Beata who remained in Italy, and other siblings I don't know anything about. Is there any chance that there is another Piacentini family from the same region. While in the U.S. the family name was Americanized by schools and such as Pagentine.

My Grandparents, Pio and Rose Piacentini came from Italy around 1913. They came from a small town East of Rome called Arsoli. As my father was orphaned, my Grandfather's family is a bit sketchy. We know that one of my grandfather's brothers went to Argentina. My father has found cousins in Arsoli and met them.

In any case Piacentini is a fairly common name in the north of Italy. We believe it originated in a town called Piacenza.

Over the web I have heard of several other Piacentini's. One was from the Carribean. If Constantino was from Arsoli, please drop me a note, we may be cousins.
