Classification: Query
Surnames: Piacun, Angelinovich
Tome (my great grandfather) and Mate (his brother) immigrated to Plaquemines Parish in Louisiana (around 1905). They were oyster fishermen before moving to New Orleans around 1915. They owned and operated a restaurant/bar in New Orleans. Tom married Adele and had 6 children:

Thomas
Nicol, a son died during birth. I didn't know about him, but found his death record in the Louisiana archives.
Mary (my grandmother)
Nicholas--died in World War II
Louise
Leon

During my research, I noticed a newspaper article about a Tom Piacun in Oakland, CA. Also, some of the Piacuns were held in prison camps during WW II and I've heard stories of Tom's mother, Mary Angelinovich Piacun being held in a camp as well. I have pictures of her. Tom's mother moved to New Orleans and lived with Tom and Adele for a while, but eventually went back to Croatia.

I think it is very interesting that Piacun originated from Piazzoni in Italy. I always wondered if there was a connection.

Thank you so much for the information!!
