I am a descendant of Tobitha (pronounced To bi' tha) PIatt and Peter Stephen Berry. I was at a Wiggins reunion this summer, and visited with a great granddaughter of Tobitha. The great granddaughter is now 92 years old and in excellent physical and mental shape. I asked her about Tobitha (who died before the g granddaughter was born), and asked if she knew if she could have been part Indian. She heartily agreed that Tobitha was part Indian because she apparently did know Tobitha's brothers and said they all looked Indian. I have a photo of Tobitha, but can't really tell her heritage from that. Her cemetery stone is in Council Grove KS.
