Does anyone have any family information for Angeline Piatt of Scioto County, Ohio? I appreciate any and all help!

An Angeline Piatt was born in 1843 to John H Piatt and Sarah "Sally Jones Piatt. Her siblings were Jane, Margaret, Lavina, Sarah, Thomas, John Hiram, and William.

John H Piatt was born about 1798 in Ohio Co (W)VA to Lewis Piatt and Catherine McHenry. In 1830 the family was in Niles Twp of Scioto Co OH; in 1840 in Tiffin Twp, Adams Co OH; in 1850 in Union Twp of Scioto Co OH; and in 1860 in Niles twp, Scioto Co OH.

Sally Jones was born in 1807 to Andrew Jones and Elizabeth Cain. Sally and John H Piatt were married in Adams Co OH on 14 Dec 1824 by James Williams. That's about all the information I have on this Angeline. I hope she is the right one.

This could possibly be the Angeline I am looking for. She was married to William Welty and she had a daughter named Bertha who married Andrew J. Odle. Thank you for your help!

For further information, William V. (Violet, maybe was supposed to be Vliet has always listed as B. for some reason) and Angeline Piatt Welty were my great grandparents. They had the following children:

<1866>Elnora m. Charlie Nease c. Hazel
<1870>John R. m. Elva M. Mason c. Lola, Margaret, Robert, William (my dad), John C.
<1873> Bertha m. Andrew Jackson Odle
<1875> Rowena m. Frank Shaw c. Ruth, Welty, Herman
? Luther L. m. Lumme Brown c. Lottie, Dorothy?

Wm V had a brother Robert and sister Rebecca.
Angelines parents were Lewis Sr and Catherine McHenry, I'd have to look up siblings later. Hope this helps. Wm and Angeline are buried in Friendship Cemetary, Niles Twp, Friendship Oh, Scioto County. I decorate it every year.

Hello again.
My husband and I recently were able to visit the Friendship and the Odle/Piatt cemeteries and we photographed many of the stones we were looking for. I have one question that I thought you might be able to answer for me. Was Welty Shaw Rowena's son? Since they stones are there together, that is what I am thinking.

Yes, Welty is Rowena's son. I believe he drowned in one of the large floods. I'll have to check. I think I have the news article some where. Glad to know you were able to get to the cemeteries. I took pics of many of the same stones this summer. There are other cemetaries that may have some of your/our family in them in close proximity of Friendship. Vaughters cemetery you can see from Rt. 52, close to the boy scout camp sign I think. The other is on Worley Run (off rt. 52), it's on the left as you go down the road not too far. I can't think of the name of it but friends of mine (actually long lost relatives) have family there that's how I know.

Were you able to find the newspaper article about Welty's death? I would be very interested in it. Do you know of any existings pictures of any of the Welty's? I just obtained one of Bertha and her husband, Andrew Odle and daughter, Carrie. I can email it to you if you are interested.

No, I'm sorry, I haven't had the time. I will definitely try as soon as I can, maybe by next weekend. I have to drag everything out and go through some of the articles as I have several about the floods. The articles are large front page articles. I would have to scan in pieces I'd think. I think there were two. Anyway, I would be interested in the picture. I have a couple that Lori posted of Bertha and Rowena. I have pictures of john Royce and Elva Mae Mason Welty. I wish I had one of Wm. Violet and Angeline Piatt Welty. I will get back to you soon.
