I know this is several years old, but I am looking for further information on both sides of my family and do not know where to start. I was born Lisa Marie Piechowiak, daughter of Jon Carl Piechowiak, granddaughter of Florence (Dardas) (Piechowiak) Bujarski and Edward Piechowiak. I have looked through your website and would like to know how to go more in depth with the Piechowiak side as well as my maternal family tree. Any tips?

Hi Pat, my GM was Mary (Marryanna) Piechowiak (1876-1954). I believe she lived on a farm near the village of Kornik (close to Poznan). She came to the USA married Valentine Wikarski (1854-1914) and settled on a farm in Belville MI. After Valentine died she moved her family to Detroit. There are several Piechowiaks showing up on the 1890 Census that already lived in Detroit.

I have not found a link between the Detriot and Bay City area Piechowiaks. Although, both appear to originate from around the Poznan area in Poland.

Do you know where your Piechowiaks originated from in Poland and do you know of any links between the Detroit and Bay City Piechowiaks?

Thanks,
Kent
