Hi, Leticia my name is Patricia Piedra and I am not of cuban heritage. i am hispanic yes but I was born in Texas and it is believed through stories of our great grandfather that we are of french heritage with our last name being Pierre but was changed due to the fact that back in the early 1800's there was only Mexicans and white americans therefoere the name was changed to Piedra so that mexicans could prononce our last name since Pierre means rock in spanish.

Hi Osmani, I'm Leticia Piedra. Sorry dont mean to bother you. But I too am curious regarding the existing of The PIEDRA name. I was really intriged when I came across this web page, and suprised to learn that most of the PIEDRA's here are from the Cuban Heritage. I have always thought that the PIEDRA name was Indiana and came from Mexico. <br>(I SHOULD GET A CLUE, RIGHT) I would really like to know more, and if you have any information, maybe you can share it with me. THANK YOU, OSMANI
