I am a Piere in Iowa who has been trying to research my ancestry for awhile. I found out from my grandmother that our last name was originally Piermeier. If anyone has any more information for our family I would greatly appreciate it. My email is nicholas.piere@yahoo.com and also I am trying to find family crest and shield. Please help me.

have in my possession a picture of 10 id'd people - to me it looks like the early 1900's. The people are: Ralph Pure or Piere ?, Helen France, Carl Seybold, Ethel Myers, Martha Harris, Bob Rice, Ruth Myers, Ralph Miller, Mabel Myers, Earl Visscher. Would you happen to have anything on Etienne Piere? I don't know anything about him other than we have a sword that has his name engraved on it.

Thanks for the reply on the Piere surname. Can you tell me the origin of your sword? I should clarify that our Piere clan came from northern Germany and the surname is both Piere and Piermeier. I find no French connections although I realize the similarity to Pierre is evident. I would be interested to know if we share any German ancestry, the Piere surname shows up at least before 1650 in the region of Westphalia Germany specifically Blaisheim a tiny village where my clan is from. Thanks

Searching for connected Piere families from Blaisheim Germany near Hanover. My particular clan came to USA in 1871 and my g-g-grandfather had sisters and brothers that may or may not have emmigrated here. I know of 2 that did in this family, one to Minnesota and one to South Dakota.
