Hello to all of you who are now finding out that once you are in the Pierrotti family you can find a family member just about anywhere. I am Deola Soileau Ardoin # 5 child of Gladys Pierrottie Soileau who was 1 of 4 daughters of Ulysse Grant Pierrottie one of 11 children born to Ausust Constante Pierrotti who was a son of Vennard Pierotti born in Italy.
So there go coming from such large families we quickly spead out through the generations. The Pierrottie family book that the "Welch" woman spoke of was put together by Bernal Pierrotti who was the son of George Pierrottie from Mamou, Louisiana. He worked on this book as he planned to gather up Pierrotties from all around. He succeeded in doing so and the gathering was held at the Woodmen of The World building in Mamou in or about October of 1977. I know this because I attended and my youngest daugther was given a prize as being the youngest there. Many familes were represented there and pictures were taken. The book was sold and just limted copies were avaliabel. Your copy must have come from your one of the daughters born to Uncle Louis Calvin Pierrotti. When I was growing up I was the youngest of 5 and my parents had me when they were older. Therefore I got to visit and get to know older family great aunts and uncles more than others of my age and after.
So I have alot of memories, I do remember Ray 's mother she was a first cousin to my mother. They were cousins but I knew and know alot of them. There were many that lived within 2 -3 blocks of each other. Ray's mother had sisters named Mable Pierrotti married John Everret Soileau and Delia Pierrotti who married Cyprien Landreneau and had 12 children. Uncle "Cal" was the name I knew Louis Calvin Pierrotti as.
Of the orginal 11 children of August Constante Pierrotti I was blessed to have memories of Rosennia Pierrotti Martel, Pierrotti, Louis Calvin Pierrotti, Constant Pierrotti and Balthazar.
I know live in the same community as the orginal family lived in and have located and cleaned up the grave of August Constante Pierrotti referred to as the "old chicot" the old stump. He and great grandmother are bruied together in a family plot in the country area outside Eunice, LA.
