Your posting lists many names that are compatible with my Pines Family history.My grandfather was Nicholas Francis Pines ,who was born in Orange County NY. possibly in Fla. N.Y.He married Lela Flynn in 1899 or 1900 in Philipsburg N.J.They lived there and raised 4 children, one of whom was my mother Elizabeth. I know my mother was first cousin to the Pines who ran the Racing Museum. If this all sounds familiar to you PLEASE contact me!! I have been searching forever for Pines relatives!!!

My grandfather was Nicholas Francis Pines,a son of Michael and Ellen Pines who were from Orange Co. New York. I am pretty sure we are related!My mother was Elizabeth Pines. She was the 3rd of 5 children born to Nicholas and Lela Flynn. They lived in Phillipsburg New Jersey.Please RSVP.

My father is Philip Alan Pines. His father was also Philip Pines, and his father before him was Michael Pine. Michael and his wife Ellen Doyle came from Ireland in the second half of the 19th century. They were both born 1844. They setled in Orange Co. NY, about 60 miles north of NYC. Does any of this sound familiar?

Hewins and they had Charles Colgate,Edward S
Benjamin had son I do not know who his wife was
his sons name is Charles Franklin and he marred
Jennie a Wilson they had Edward,George,Ethel,
Earl,Edith,Lotty,Nettie,Ruth. George is My grandfather
if you have any infor on that line will you let me know please
and I do have some on Benjamin 1/2 Brothers
I do know that James Pine had three Wifes
Benjamin was born in 1838 died in 1914 O.K. city

I am a descendent of John Pines and Elizabeth Miller through grandson Andrew Burd Pines and Mary Lenig; their daughter Rebecca Ellen and Harry M. Fultz; their son Delbert Steitz and Paulina Svedine, and their son Clarence, my father.

Would be interested in any information of the Pines part of my family and have been in touch with Laird Bonn ref same. Happy to share what info I have too.

I have seen the postings on Levina Lee Rex, Patrick Nolan, and Martha Ellen Lee. I am the gg grandson of David Rex. We must be family. I too have heard family lore about how Robert E. Lee had picked Martha Ellen up and put her on his lap. I have heard many other Oklahoma stories besides. I am currently trying to research family history but have not gotten far. As a kid my father's family used to drive to Prague, OK for vacation. A city boy, he has fond memories of his time there.

Have you gotten any farther in your research? I would like to talk with you. I have your number from the postings and will try again soon.

Have been researching this for 4 years. Martha Ellen Lee Pines Rex and David Rex were my grea great grandparents also. I have old pictures of them. Lots of info of their lifetimes. However, have not been able to verify name of her parents but have a fairly good idea. Have copies of Martha's marriage bonds to James Pines, David Rex.

Let me hear from you soon. You do know they are buried outside Prague in Arlington Cemetery?

I read your correspondance on Reuben and Robert E. Lee. I have a Reuben Lee. His son, Solomon Lee, fought in the Civil War for the north, and settled in Tennessee. In his application for a pension for fighting in the war, he states that his father, Reuben Lee, was a cousin or second cousin to Robert E. Lee.

I am stuck with Reuben and Solomon. I am not sure I believe they are related to Robert E. Lee, as I believe both Solomon and Reuben were born in Vermont.

Please let me know of any further information on your Reuben Lee, to take a chance they may be the same.

Martha and Sue...I think my Reuben is not the same as yours. Reuben was born about 1800, in Vermont according to most census records, one states NY. He married Polly or Mary, born about 1796 in Vermont. Their children were: Henry (abt 34), Solomon (1838, my ancestor), Ephrium (abt 1831). Could be more. I think he has a brother named Daniel, maybe Andrew also. They tend to travel together. They all married into Spees family. I also think Solomon and Daniel stayed in the western NY area, and Andrew moved on to Wisconsin.

I can pass more on as I dig it out. I am in the process of getting better organized.
