Humphrey Pinney - A Presidential Linkage?
One for the your next family reunion.
Humphrey Pinney (b. Nov. 1605, d. Aug 20 1683), had a brother Nicholas (b. bet. 1590 and 1591). Nicholas Pinney married Anne Keymer (b.abt. 1595). Nicholas and Anne had a daughter Sarah (b. Abt. 1623, d. 1644).
In abt. 1643 Sarah Pinney married Edward Poole(b.1609, d. 1664)in Weymouth, Ma.
Sarah and Edward are listed as the 10th great grandparents of George Walker Bush (b. New Haven, Conn., 6 July 1946, Governor of Texas from 1994 to 2000, U.S. President from 2001 ).
So, if you are a descendent of Humphrey, next time you are in D.C. you may want to stop by the White House and ask to see “Cousin” George.
