Webster Piper - Lansing, Ingham Co., MI

Looking for information about Webster Piper, his wife Grace, and son Harry. They lived in the Lansing area about 1931, presumably after having moved there from Isabella Co., after 1920. Webster is the brother of my ggrandmother, Emiline Piper-Bauman.

William Thomas Piper is my great uncle. He was born on January 8, 1881 in Knapps Creek
New York near the Pennsylvania border.He purchased Taylor aircraft in Bradford,Pa in
1931 and changed the name to Piper Aircraft.

William T. Piper parents Thomas and Sarah Maltby Piper are buried in Buffalo, New York and Jennings and Maria King Piper W.T Pipers
grandparents, my great great grandparents are buried in a small cemetery at Evans ,New York

I used to work with Forrest (Fob or Fobby) Piper at Insulating Fabricators, Inc in West Franklin, NH back in the 1960's. He was a nice man, but I can't help much with other information about him. I think he worked in Sulloway Hosiety Mills before working as shipping foreman at Insulating Fabricators. He loved to dance. He had a wife, but I don't recall children ever being mentioned. At that time he lived at 68 North Main Street in West Franklin. He's been dead a long time. I don't know any birth, marriage, or death information. Sorry.

Katharine Ann Piper - Durham

It has been a while since I last posted a message regarding our search for KATHERINE ANN PIPER DURHAM.
In 1998, my husband learned of Katherine Ann, who would be his half sister, if still living. Her mother was KATHERINE ANN PFEFFERLE who was first wife to my husband's father, HAROLD MORTON PIPER. The first wife died in 1931. Katherine the daughter would have been born about 1926.

That same year, 1998, we came into possession of a photo album with over 200 photos of the PFEFFERLE family. We sincerely wish to see to it that either Katherine PIPER DURHAM or one of her descendants receives this album. There was a photo of Katherine with her husband identified as RAY DURHAM and a young boy identified as their son named MIKE. They were living in Carmel, Indiana at the time.
We wrote to 18 different Michael Durhams with no luck. In the past years, we also paid a "search" service, but no results. No record of a Katherine Ann DURHAM, nee PIPER. Katherine was raised by her Aunt Etta (Henrietta PFEFFERLE Flanagan) in Indiana.
The two PFEFFERLE family members we found do not know what became of Katherine. They remembered her mother with love and fondness, and with sadness at her death in 1931.
It is not my husband's desire to disrupt anyone's life, nor to perhaps open any "wounds" that may or may not exist. If Katherine Ann PIPER DURHAM is still living, he would, of course, like to meet her or talk to her, or correspond with her. However, if this is not to be, perhaps she could use an intermediary to claim the album that shows her mother's family.

Looking for any information concerning a William H. Piper born about 1844 who married Caroline Moore about 1871-72. They had a daughter, Bertha, born about 1873. In the 1880 census of Chicago "W. H. Piper" is a census enumerator, born NY, both parents born NY. He must have died before 1900 as in that Chicago census Caroline is a widow with her daughter Bertha.

Was this William H. Piper the foster son of Stillman and Laura Piper of Saint Lawrence County, New York?

I am researching the PIPER family who lived in Georgia around 1830/183l to 1840. The family moved to Alabama and resided there from 1842 to 1850. I believe the PIPER family lived and died in Jefferson Co, AR from 1860-1880. I would like to correspond with anyone who might be researching a PIPER family in these states during these time frames.

I know you wrote this almost 5 years ago, but I'm looking for (Margaret) Peggy Bell Lair, who is said to be born in Kentucky and married in Kentucky, to Daniel Green, and they moved to Indiana. I don't know if her middle name is Bell or Belle and whether that is because she was married to a Lair, then married a Green, or if she was born a Lair and perhaps her mother's maiden name was Bell(e). Hi, Helen, thanks for replying to my old post. More research has taken place (not by me, I've been building a house for the last year) and we have a little more info. My Mother in law was a Piper, her father was Donald Vincent Piper and George was her great grandfather. We just had some info about her from some DNA test that was being done on the male line.
Now I have (I hope) a bit more leisure time, I can start delving again. Nice to meet you!

This book sold itself as a collection of biographical and historical information about Pipers throughout the United States. Pub. by Halbert's Family Heritage, Bath, Ohio, copyright 1994 by Halbert's.

Prior to printing, letters were mailed to Piper individuals to list their address, occupation, year born, birthplace, hobbies/memberships, spouse, spouse maiden name, spouse birth year, spouse birthplace, # of children, and any comment the person wished to include (e.g., original spelling of name; or some identifying statement, etc)

Those who responded were included in this "directory," if you will. It is my understanding that the publisher did this for many surnames.

Perhaps contacting the publisher might be helpful to you.

George Vincent was my husband's great-great-grandfather. His parents were James Piper, born about 1796 in Devon and Elizabeth Elliott. James' parents were possibly Edward Piper and Rachel (maiden name unknown). Have only just seen your post so hope this helps

Have you found out anything new on the South Carolina Pipers, I always heard that Willis Sr, started out in North Carolina and was in the Rev War, still looking for the documents on that.

Searching for the parents of Sarah Piper born 12 Jan 1784 in Gilford/Gilmanton, New Hampshire. Need the names of her parents but, can not find her birth record.

She is not the Sarah Piper born 17 Mar 1774 in Wakefield, New Hampshire as this Sarah died28 Feb 1808 and was the daughter of Elisha Piper and Sarah Barker. She married Daniel Felch.

My Sarah Piper married Henry Plumer/Plummer and died 8 Jan 1842 in Gilford, New Hampshire where she is buried with her husband Henry Plummer.

She is not the Sarah Piper born 29 Oct 1779 of Stratham, New Hampshire daughter of Nathan Piper and Hannah Stockbridge.

If anyone has any information on my Sarah Piper; it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm related to Julia Cordelia Bartlett-Andrews and her family. Julia's father was James Robertson Bartlett (m. Julia Ann Parks), and James was my great-great-great-great-granduncle. His brother, Elias Lyman Bartlett, was my 4th great-grandfather. Do you know where John Bartlett Andrews ended up? I know for a time he was working for a company in Japan, and he resided there. Per his draft card, he was married and had 3 children. But I don't have any names or places. Thank you for any help.

I am uncertain. But if Mina was born in Poland she would have had to been wealthy enough to buy passage on a ship going to America. Her name may have also been changed from Poniatowski, which is royal, the last king of Poland prior to when Prussia got split up between Germany and Russia. If this is what happened it makes sense, royals were killed then. As far as Julius, I am waiting for my son who is in the army in germany Aansbach, to go to Bramberg a good ways north and east of Berlin to find something.
