Pipkin Native Americans?

My GG Grandfather is William Harvey Pipkin..The geneology experts in my family can not find a trace of native american blood yet my family is dark haired, dark eyed and olive complexed. Any ideas where the connection is? Obviously looking at other messages there is another side..any info would be appreciated.
