I have found references to the name Abraham Pitcher in Mettingham (Sflk) and Mattishall (Nflk) but too early and the only son I can find for this one died very young, so he did not have any children.

I also have a family of Pitchers in Ellough going back to mid 1700s in case they ever linked up.

What details do you have?

I live just outside Bury St Edmunds incidentally. Email me direct if you want to.

Rosella or Rosetta Pitcher: Shelbyville, Indiana

Looking for information on Rosella/Rosetta Pitcher b. abt 1879 in Indiana. Her father was Thomas Pitcher (b. Missouri), son of A. J. Pitcher (b. Indiana) and Luesa (1860 Census), and Idella Oaks.

Rosella married Sherman Ivie in Shelbyville, and by 1910 they were living in Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana. I have finally located Sherman's death date (11/25/1919) and burial (Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville), but his obituary has no mention of his wife or children. Additionally, Cemetery records indicate that he was "single" when he was buried.

As of yet, I have been unable to determine a) if they had divorced, or there was a mistake in his records as to marital status, b) when/where Rosella died and is buried.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Marianne Spencer
Indianapolis, Indiana

I have marriage license of the above named and also pictures of John H. Pitcherand also a picture of John H. with his mother and father and brothers and sisters. The picture is old and still in the frame. These articles are of no interest to me and I am trying to get them in the hands of someone connected to John H. and Elizabeth. These were left when my brother-in-law died . He was the son of louise Pitcher Lewis ,daughter of John H. and Elizabeth. Hope I can find a home for them. Thanks

I am looking for information on Mary Polly Pitcher born 1824 and married John Scott Byrd in Madison Co. Ky. I think she is the daughter of Joshua Pitcher and maybe Nelly Brook, she had sisters Nancy, Sally and a brother James. I would be interesting in information on any of this family. I would be glad to share what I have.

I do not think my last message got through. So I am repeating it.

I am trying to find an Abraham Pitcher born c1790, died before 1851 census, states he was born in Norfolk on 1841 census. He married and lived in Thurgarton and Aldborough North Norfolk. I have a family of Pitcher's in Ellough back to the early 1700s and an Abraham son of John from Mettingham who married Mary Reader in 1762 and had a son James who died, which threw out my theory that this Abraham and James were ancestors, unless James had more children that I have not traced.

Any help or more infoprmation appreciated if you have come across this family, or if I have anything that might link with your family, let meknow.

FREDERICK PITCHER

Good Afternoon. I am trying to find information on an ancestor called FREDERICK PITCHER. He was born in Lynn, Norfolk, UK in 1866. He was on the UK 1881 census aged 15 living in Lynn, Norfolk. I am unable to trace him on the UK 1901 census. I am assuming he emmigrated to the US (from where to where I do not know) between 1881 and 1901. On May 28th, 1935 his name was mentioned in an article in the Lynn News, which said he was living in Muskogee, Oklahoma, US. Other information is that someone in the family has info that he died in Phoenix Arizona in 1953. A story also in the family is that he married a Native American woman, and that he possibly had a grandchild by the name of Fred.

This is sparce information I know, but that's geneology I guess. If there is anything that anyone can offer to help piece together some of this information, I would be very grateful

Regards, Tina
My father Walter Pitcher died a few years back and we never really heard anything about his family. I have been e-mailing a few people to see if they are part of my family history. My dad's parent's names were Howard Pitcher and Nora (Dwyer) Pitcher. They lived in City Island (Bronx) New York. I believe that my grandmother had family in New Jersey, but it's a bit fuzzy. My dad had 8 brothers and sisters, Robert, Forman, William, Richard, Marie, Jeanette, Dorothy and John. If you know of any of the names above or have any information on who my great grandparents might have been, please let me know. Thank you.
Stiles and Ellen J. Pitcher. (same date, place, witnesses as above)

Martinsburg Methodist - Episcopal Church Record of Baptisms: March 25, 1888 - baptism of Herman, Mary, & Clara Pitcher.

Researcher's note: Clara was Herman & Mary's daughter b.
Lowville – Sept 10, 1885 – newspaper clipping
Golden Wedding
The fiftieth anniversary in the wedded life of Mr. And Mrs. Moses Pitcher was celebrated at their home in North Greig, Thursday, September 10, 1885, about forty relatives and friends being present.
The day was happily passed in social intercourse, interspersed with an abundance of good music both vocal and instrumental. Mr. Will Jones, of Martinsburg, as cornetor, delighted the company with rapturous melody. Mrs. Jones presided at the organ.
The brothers of Mr. Pitcher present were Morris, Cyrus and Marcellus Pitcher, of Martinsburg, Lyman Pitcher of Illinois, and Seymour Pitcher, of Adams, NY. The aggregate age of the six brothers present was about 390 years, and average of 65 years.
The children present were C. D. Pitcher and Mrs. F. P Higby, of Dannatberg, Mrs. Loren Peebles and Miss Lenora Pitcher, of Grieg, and George Pitcher, of Delaware.
About $50 in cash besides several other very useful presents were given the aged couple as tokens of love from their kindred.
After a bountiful repast, Rev. R. Kline, of Port Leyden, who was present by request, made a few fitting and pleasant remarks, after which the merry company dispersed to their homes, feeling that the day had been most profitably passed in the presence of those near and dear to each other.
Martinsburg – May 29, 1902 – newspaper clipping
Alfred Pitcher died last Sunday morning, having only been confined to the house a few days, aged 50 years. Mr. Pitcher has been a great sufferer for a long time with severe attacks of spasms, and the constant strain upon his nervous system gradually run him down until at last he was summoned from earthly sufferings to that home where the weary are at rest.

Researcher's note: Alfred Pitcher was the son of James Harvey Pitcher and Jane C. White. He is believed born about 1852 and died May 25, 1902.
