Does the book have Charles H (?) if it is a H on the census records born 1801 or 1803 married to a Pittsley? One of the children born is Hannah Rebecca Ryder (Rider) born in 1855 and is listed as, I believe, female on the birth cert, but I cannot find a copy of the birth cert, or of Charles'.

Thank you.

I believe I may have found some census data from 1910 that may give me Pearl mother and fathers name. It says Henry B born in Wisconsin & Belle J Olson born in Iowa both living in North Dakota together in 1910. Judging from these pictures that I have it looks to be in North Dakota, too. I could be wrong about this find, but it seems to be at least somewhat correct. The 2 closest sisters match too, Ruby and Carol.

Just some extra info that might help...Peal was born in Iowa and married Earl in Alvadore, Oregon. Judging from pictures between ~1920 - ~1955 of Pearls father he seems to be either divorced or widowed because his wife (pearls mother) is never there. I also don't think that he lived in Oregon , I believe he just visited from time to time. I have pictures of Pearls dad visiting San Francisco in ~1920, also. If you would like more info feel free to ask and thanks a ton in advance because any info could help me piece together this part of my family! If my grandmother did not have alzheimers this would be easy, but that is the way it goes I guess...I hate alzheimers (but who doesn't?!)!

I'm looking for information on Pearl Anna Pittsely born in 1902 who married Earl Fisher in 1924 in Oregon. She died 1982 in Junction City, Oregon. I need to know who her parents are as I've run into a dead end. My father and uncles have forgotten the information and my grandmother is suffering from alzheimer's and can't provide any information. I have pictures of Pearls father, but no label. Pearls father was born in wisconsin and her mother was born in Iowa. Pearls daughter is Alyce Louise Fisher. If anyone has ANY info at all I would greatly appriciate it!

Percival Pittsley was my great grandfather. His sister was Maude Pittsley Foye. Their parents were Albert and Eunice Pittsley. Percival's first wife died, he had one daughter with her Dorothy F. Pittsley. Percival and Dorothy moved in with Maude. After Percival died Dorothy appears on census as daughter of Maude and Louis Foye. We have no record after that of Dorothy. Percival remarried Gertrude Graves. They had three daughters Hazel, Myrtle and Ruth. When Percival died. Hazel and Myrtle went with their mother and we have no further record of Ruth.

Hi, I have a bit more of a complex search, and it involves my ggrandma,Viola Tompkins. She was full-blood native american. I have found her on the 1870 NYS census in Lisle,Broome Cty. living with Phylander Pittsley and his family. There are other Pittlsley families in Lisle at this time also. The problem, is that Viola is not listed as a daughter, adopted daughter, niece or anything else.
I know that early on, Tioga Cty in NY was actually part of PA until a astate line was drawn, also at one time,Broome was part of Tioga. I have been told by a cousin, that she believes initiallly, Viola's family was from the Tioga area. I know that she was native american indian, and there is a photo of her in her indian dress. She eventually married my ggrandfather,Benjamin Isaac Schouten. Now, her first marriage,if I am correct, was to a surname,Gilbert.

In 1910, my grandmother,Ruth Elliot Scouten,(Baker) was sent to live Perla and Ella (Pittsley)Willey in Clay,Onondaga,NY. She stayed with them until she and Ralph Baker married. I have been trying like crazy to find Ella's parents. Ella was born in 1883,I think, and she and Perla had three children,Mary,Claude, and Dorothy.

Please help if you can.

Cindi Taylor

He was a sailor and the original birth cert says Daniel W. was his father and Phebe B. Frazier was Warren's Mom.

My husband's grandfather was Silas Everett Field, who was also a sailor or a captain of a ship that went back and forth to England, and who was married to Catherine Lee from England.

Thank you. kati1@verizon.net

I just started working on this again and found your message. Thank you again.

My husband said Hannah Rider/Ryder had a photographh of someone in her family who was an Indian. Have you come across anyone in this Rider/Ryder family. Charles shows up in the 1900 census living with Hannah and her second husband Edgar Deforest Brown. There are three sets of Rider's/Ryder's or so I have been told - one in Maine, where Hannah said she was from, one in Cape Cod and one in Vermont (which probably came across from Maine, although no-one wants to admit being connected to each other). I know Hannah and Edgar went to Pilgrim and Indian meetings (separate meetings). Hannah said she also had relatives in Westchester County.

Just thought you may have come across some more information.

Thanks.

Freetown, MA - Am looking for the birth of Hannah Ryder/Rider, father was Charles Rider/Ryder, married to Silas Field first. Parent of Silas Field supposedly was Warren Field married in Taunton, MA to a Mary. Hannah was born around 1854 and I think her mother was Pittsley, but I cannot find her birth record in Freetown. There is an Adelaide Adams and a Lillian Marble buried in the Mayflower Cemetery with Hannah Rebecca Brown (2nd husband).

One is the one you have that married Simon Duvall on May 7,1848 in Oxford-they have 1 child listed, Oliver is his name, born on Feb. 23,1849. Didnt waste any time did they? John and Sabina moved to Oxford from Coventry. My Mary Ann Pittsley was born in Maple Grove(the Butternuts),she was born on May 4,1853 and her parents were James and Lucia Pittsley. Mary Ann Pittsley married Marshall Platt and lived in Maple Grove. Mary Ann and Marshall were my ggrandparents

Yes, but my paperwork is down stairsi will get back to you tomorrow on this matter. I have found a bit more on Mary Ann and Simeon. I found the 1855 census and it states the following: John and Sabrina lived in a plank house. John was 50yrs,born in Mass. and was a carpenter. Sabrina was 55yrs. and born in Vermont. The children at home were: Lucie M.--17yrs born Chenango Co.,N.Y. and John--3yrs also born in Chenango Co.. In that household also were 3 grandchildren, they were : Padgett age 10yrs.(male)--Kaleb age 8yrs.(male) and Oliver age 5yrs.(male) all born in Chenango Co.. Mary Ann and Elizabeth were out of the household by then. My Mary Ann Pittsleys parents were James Pittsley and Lucia Gregory(according to death cert.). I am sure these are the same. More to follow tomorrow. Jo Anne

I found a note from a Cynthis Knoblock of DuBois,Pa.-dated 1982,sent to me by Norwich Historical Society. It states the following: She was looking for Casper, her ggrandfather. Casper was born in Coventry,Chenango Co.,N.Y. It also says he was the son of James Pittsley and Lowell Gregory. From my notes(not authenticated) --Casper S. first wife was--Helen Ferguson--born 1849, children of Casper were: Oris J-b Sept. 27, 1869 Chenango Co., Agnes-b 1877(your Agnes?) in Pa. and Kate-b abt. 1885. George was brother of my James. I have a note from a Douglas@Bolam.com--he is looking for Casper info. also. You are right is it Casper Samuel or Samuel Casper? In 1855 census of Coventry,N.Y. is listed--a son--Samuel C., age 11yrs--s/o Lucia and James and would be the brother of my Mary Ann(my ggrama). Too many same names--it gets confusing. I have 7 Lucys(in different forms), i just wrote as a title, the mystery of the seven lucys, and am still hunting for some of them. Jo Anne

I am always happy for any info. i can get. Thanks My line of decent is as follows: Alexander, Francis, James, Mary Ann and Francis Edna (my grama). My ggrandmother was Mary Ann Pittsley Platt, i had a chance to know her as she passed away when i was 11yrs., i remember her well. I have no other living family members so i am doing most of my research on the web. This i do have and maybe there is some you can use. James Pittsley--born 1811 in Mass. married to Lucretia Gregory--born in Otsego,N.Y.--married 1840. James and Lucretia had 10 children(of which my ggrama-Mary Ann was one). James parents were Lynda Ryder--born abt. 1773 and Francis Pittsley--born abt. 1773, i would say both were born in Mass, but not for sure. If i can be of any help give me a hollar --hchambers6@aol.com-- Jo Anne

This goes round and round. I have a letter from the Norwich Hist. Soc., dated Oct. 17, 1982 from a Cynthia Knoblock, DuBois,Pa. looking for info. on Casper S (or S. C.). There are so many names used over and over, it becomes a real puzzle doesnt it? As for your Anna, i will continue to search, if i come with anything i will let you know. They are definitly all related, it will take a bit to research it Good luck Jo Anne.
