      <description>Gerard V. Piunti&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Gerard V. Piunti, 61 Coast Guard, Navy vet; in many veteran groups&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;MASHPEE - Gerard V. 'Jerry' Piunti, 61, died unexpectedly Thursday at Falmouth Hospital. He was the husband of Linda 'Lynn' (Severson) Piunti for 36 years. Mr. Piunti was a seven-year Navy veteran and a 17-year Coast Guard veteran, stationed in Alaska and Milwaukee and at the Coast Guard station at Otis. He retired as a chief petty officer in 1987 and settled in Mashpee. For eight years he owned the concession business at Quashnet Valley Golf Club in Mashpee. He most recently worked for the state as VA representative for career opportunities in Hyannis. Mr. Piunti was a member of Chief Petty Officer Association, American Legion Post 188 in Sandwich, Disabled American Veterans and Paralyzed Veterans of America. Besides his wife, survivors include a daughter, Christina Piunti of Mashpee; three stepchildren, Stephen and Bryan Bradford and Tammy Lee, all of Georgia; two brothers, Richard and Nick Piunti, both of Illinois; two sisters, Judy Kokis of Illinois and Darlene Raquino of Hawaii; a grandson; and seven stepgrandchildren. Visitation is 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, followed by a service at 2 p.m., at Chapman, Cole &amp;amp; Gleason Funeral Home, 74 Algonquin Ave. (Route 151), Mashpee. Burial will follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;12/15/04 Submitted by: Lawrence E.
