I am Todd Piwowar, born August 5th, 1973. I am the son of Gerald Piwowar (Detroit, MI), Grandson of Joseph Piwowar. I've noticed my younger brother Robert has posted a few messages. Beyond our grandfather, Joseph, we don't know much of our heritage. My father doesn't like to talk of his childhood so we miss out on quite a bit. I don't even see my aunts and uncles at all. My father had three sisters, Elizabeth (Lizzie Carley), Cindy, and Debbie. He ended up raising them with my grandmother while our grandfather would spend time at the bar and prison. I am going to look into whether our grandfather moved to Detroit from Pennsylvania, but if anyone thinks my story sounds familiar from a different perspective, response would be appreciated. As my brother has mentioned, we have grown up knowing of another Piwowar family in the Detroit area. Knowing that my grandfather may have been divorced, it makes sense that another family may exist out there. I didn't know my grandfather very well, but my father, Jerry, whom may have been protective of us learning fully about our history, ended up being a great person who has taught me many things. I appreciate the father that he is to his sons, Todd, Nathan, and Robert, and his daughter Megan.
