Albert Pizza
Albert J. Pizza, died on Monday, May 29, 2006, at Mercy Suburban Hospital in E. Norriton. He was 79.
Mr. Pizza was a life long resident of Bridgeport. He was the owner and operator of Al's Amaco Gas Station in Bridgeport. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bridgeport. Albert loved spending time with his family, going to the casinos and taking trips to Shady Maple. Mr. Pizza was a U.S. Army veteran who served from 1952 to 1954.
Born in Bridgeport on July 27, 1926, he was a son of the late John and Elmerinda (Pullo) Pizza. He was the husband of the late Virginia A. (Capoferri) Pizza who died in 1991.
Surviving are his loving family including two sons, Anthony G. Pizza of Cape Coral, Fla. and John M. Pizza and his wife, Diane of Bridgeport; a daughter, Geraldine V. Pizza of Bridgeport, and her friend, Bruce Barrie; four grandchildren: Alexandria, Jordan, Nicholas and Danielle; his companion, Frances Chlebovich; a brother-in-law, Nazarine J. Capoferri of Trooper; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel J. Pizza and Joseph A. Pizza Sr.; and a sister, Carmella Rocchino.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral from The Bacchi-Courtney Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, on Friday, June 2, at 9:20 a.m. Followed by his funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport at 10 a.m. Interment in St. Augustine Cemetery, Upper Merion. His viewings will be Thursday 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday morning 8:30 to 9:20 a.m., both at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Albert's memory to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA 19405.
