Richard Mansfield (d. June 11, 1655 in New Haven, CT) m. Gillian Drake on August 10, 1636 at St. Arches Church, Exeter, England.

In the Mansfield forum, there was a post on April 17, 2001 on the Mansfield Royal ancestry. Here's the link.

Here's what the posting says:

In a recent article in the New England Historical and Genealogical Register, there is presented the ancestry of John Mansfield who married Mary (Shard) Gove, Elizabeth Mansfield who married John Wilson and Anne Mansfield who married Robert Keayne and Samuel Cole. The article is “The Ancestry of the Royally-Descended Mansfields of the Massachusetts Bay” by Robert C. Anderson, John C. Brandon, and Paul C. Reed NEHGR 155 (2001): 3-35.

The royal lines presented are:

Edward III m. Philippa of Hainault
Lionel of Antwerp, Duke of Clarence m. Elizabeth de Burgh
Phillipa of Clarence m. Edmund de Mortimer, 3rd Earl of March
Elizabeth Mortimer m. Sir Henry Percy (Hotspur)
Elizabeth Percy m. John Clifford, 7th Lord Clifford
Thomas Clifford, 8th Lord Clifford m. Joan Dacre
John Clifford, 9th Lord Clifford m. Margaret Bromflete
Henry Clifford 10th Lord Clifford m. Anne Saint John
Elizabeth Clifford m. Sir Ralph Bowes
Margery Bowes m. Sir Ralph Eure (see below)
Anne Eure m. Lancelot Mansfield
John Mansfield m. Elizabeth (---)
Elizabeth Mansfield m. Rev. John Wilson, first minister of Boston

Edward III m. Philippa of Hainault
John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster m. Katherine de Roet
Joan Beaufort m. Robert de Ferrers, 2nd Lord Ferrers
Elizabeth Ferrers m. John Greystoke, Lord Greystoke
Eleanor Greystoke m. Sir Ralph Eure
Sir William Eure m. Margaret Constable
Sir Ralph Eure m. Muriel Hastings
Sir William Eure m. Elizabeth Willoughby
Sir Ralph Eure m. Margery Bowes (see above)

Is it proven that Richard Mansfield and his descendants are members of these fine ancestries? If no, please explain.
