Seeking any information on Roscoe (Ross) Hadley Platts, b. May 4, 1912 in Haverhill, Mass., died in 1966 in Miami, Fla. I have all of his ancestral information, family, etc. I am his daughter and looking for information on his first marriage (before he married my mother in 1942). Could have been in Hawaii or California in the 1930's when he was in the Army, or in New York or Mass. in the late '30's or very early '40's. There was a child of that marriage. Do not know if the child survived beyond infancy. He was a witness to a gangland shooting on the streets of NYC around 1941/42. Would like to know what happened afterward - whether or not he testified in court, was targeted by the perpetrators, etc. Am also interested to know how he and my mother came to adopt me in Long Island with the help of Raymond "Sam" Mellinger in 1945. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.
