PLATTS England > Odessa, Russia 1815-1900
Joseph PLATTS, born 1815 Crich, Derbyshire. Moved to Russia, worked as engineer for Black Sea Steam Ship Company 1837-1842. Subsequently owned a steam flour mill at Kertch, Crimea which was destroyed by British forces in 1855. Then worked as interpreter for the Admiralty.
