I was told that the name in Mississippi was Pleasant and later shorten to Pleas in Tenn.

Hello, I am trying to find family members from my grandmother side she was a Pleas (Pleasant) born in Tupelo Ms. I think there were 18 childern. Charles, Horace, Beatrice, Lena Aunt Sis. My grandmother grew up in memphis and later moved to new york. Her sister moved the Los Angeles two of them worked for the actress Jane Wyman when she was married to Ronald Reagan. I know i still have some family in memphis. My mother spoke of a cousin named Delores.

Aunt Georgia is wht you are refering to .anyway thats on my moms side of the family they are Fridays We are Our own speakers and information persons wht is it that you were seeking ?? you looking for history on Our family name or yours? ... Hi, Iam the daughter of Elizabeth Pleas Blackshire,from Greenwood MS,Her mother was married to the late charlie Pleas which live on Wildwood Plantation. I am sorry to say that there are no more Pleas family members in Greenwood. I am currently in Jackson, Ms. and Most of my family is in Chicago. My father is Henry Clay Pleas and His Father is James Pleas who was a minister and helped build a couple of Churches in the Delta. He was from Ebenezer, Ms. I am currently tracing my Genes and finding out tons of good info. My Father was named after one of his uncles.

My grandmother was Nell Lancaster Goddard Jones, ggrandmother Achsah Pleas(Elwood's sister), gggrandmother Lydia Pleas. I have alot on Elwood, including his book he published but don't have much on his children.

I was trying to find history of the Pleas family. I am Patricia Stanley from Greenwood, MS. I see that you have made contact with my first cousin Lavonne Pleas. I am related to a James Pleas, who is now deceased. He was a preacher.

My Great Gandmother was Sadie Johnson Graham and she had a sister Annie who loved on a barge with her husband and traveled the intracoastal waterway. I am trying to find info on them and their Creek ancestry. They also had a brother, Johnny. They lived in the Milton, Florida (Santa Rosa Co). area. Any chance they are related?

Ramon as this is such an unusual surname in Australia I would also be interested in anything you know. My husband's Uncle John in Sydney, Australia, (there are two Pleass's only in Sydney) is also researching; I am not sure how much he has found out.

yes, he was a brakeman for the railroad and died in LA. He would have been my ggrandfather. I am sorry but I have no record but I do have the exact date, if you are interested.

Hi my name is Sean Pleas, my father is Henry Clay Pleas and we are from Greenwood Mississippi. My fathers father is also named James Pleas. I do not know much beyond that but i am trying to find out as you are. I am planning a family reunion, of our once big family, for the summer and i would like to get any Pleas relatives to participate. I do know that my grandfather came out of Ebenezer, Ms and was a Reverend who helped build a few churches in the Delta. I talked to my grandfather and he dosen't remember
those people, but he did say that his father's name
was Charles H.Pleas and that he was born in
Lexington Ms. I guess at 97 there would be some
names and stuff I will not remember I hope just
to remember my name at 97, he is still quite
sharpe though, He hasn't been back to Ms. in
over 30 years and before that it had to be 50.
He left and went to Memphis around 16 years old.

My great-grandfather, was Charles Pleas he was named after his uncle who adopted him. He had 2 sons
Benjamin, and Thomas, Thomas is my grandfather. he was born in Miss.
and is alive at 97 years old..Benjamin died young.
there are more of us Pleas's in Kansas and Missouri, Washington, and Texas.

Isaac (1769-1814) is the son of Maurice (1744-?) who is the son of William (1705-1755) who is the son of Joseph (1670-1709)who is the son of Thomas (1650-1727).
Thomas was born and died in Edington England. Joseph was born in Bristol, England and died in Queens Co., NY. AS for Indian blood...I have some, but not from the Place side that I am aware of. But hey! every day I'm learning something new about my ancestors.
