Gertie PLEASANT - in Kentucky

Hello! I am at a complete dead-end here, and am asking anyone with the surnames PLEASANT/HOBBS/BEACH/HUDDLESTON (unsure of spelling on Pleasant) in their family tree for HELP! My great-grandmother was 'Gertie' (Gertrude ?) Pleasant. I have a confusing history on her, so I will begin with it:

1.) Gertie Pleasant m. David Hobbs (aka) David Allison (?) in approx. 1910 (unsure of this date, family rumor....if marriage date is correct, then my grandfather was born out of wedlock). David Hobbs was killed in coal mining accident in Whitley County, Kentucky in 1914, at the age of 29. I remember my grandfather saying that they lived in Loyall, Harlan County, Kentucky for a while. Could be where they were living at time of David Hobbs' death. They had 3 children that I know of:
1. Hobert Hobbs (my Grand-
Father) m. Agnes Gibson
2. 'Maggie' Hobbs m. Claude
Raines
3. 'Billie' Hobbs m. Otis
Williams
2.) Gertie Pleasant (m. ?) Unknown Smith (Unknown if they were actually married) had one known child:
1. Clyde Smith m. Jerri
Unknown
3.) Gertie Pleasant (m. ?) Samuel 'Samp' Huddleston (Unknown if they were actually married). It is believed that 'Samp' Huddleston fought in the Spanish-American War. Had a number of children, one of which went blind and became a wood worker/carpenter in Tennessee. These are the only names I have so far:
1. Milton Huddleston m. ?
2. Elmo/Elmer Huddleston
m. ?
3. Lowell Huddleston m. ?
4. Eugene 'Gene' Huddleston
m. Jerri ? (Eugene's name
at time of death/marriage
in Michigan was Wesley
Allen (Alan) Bryant)

My great-grandfather was David Hobbs. It is rumored that his name was actually David Allison, but that he killed a man with the surname of Suggs in some kind of fight in Kentucky, and that he changed his name to Hobbs afterward. David was killed in Kentucky, but my grandfather (His son), was born in Whitville (Name has since changed), Georgia Nov. 1, 1905-1906, and my grandfather spoke of his Grandmother Allison, who helped raise him for a while, in Georgia. My grandfather also spoke of 'the times' they lived in Birmingham, Alabama. The only other information I have on Gertie Pleasant is that she died due to complications from childbirth with the youngest child, Eugene, and that she had a brother and a sister. There could be more siblings, but these are the only ones I know of:
1. 'Kurt' Pleasant m. Betty Cox
(Kurt raised my grandfather,
Hobert, after his mother's
death)
2. Noree Pleasant (unsure of
spelling) m. John Beach. Noree
and John had a number of
children, these only names I
have: Luther and Oliver Beach
(Both died by the age of 21. All
lived in Harlan, Kentucky)

I sincerely apologize for the lengthiness of this letter! This is everything I have on Gertie Pleasant and David Hobbs. I am hoping (praying!) someone out there will recognize ANY of these names and shed some light for me. I am really stumped here. Thanks for taking the time to read this! Good luck in your research and take care.................CJHobbs (CJHobbs@aol.com)

Sam had one son same name as himself -- Sam Jr. who passed away in Chicago in the late 1960's. I will be visiting my mother for the July 4th holiday. I will question her about Laura.
'Gertie' Pleasant/David Hobbs - Kentucky

Rebecca Alvin Pleasant - b. TN

I have a Rebecca Alvina Pleasant born in McMann, Tennessee and ended up in Williamson, Illinois. Could there be some connection? I am wondering if the George Pleasant I am seeking for could have been part of this family. He did around 1900 in Missouri.

I am also from the Benjamin Bell Pleasant line.
Benj. Bell
Munroe
Burtha Irene Pleasant Freeman
Basil E. Freeman
Me !

There is a meeting twice a year near Nacogdoches, TX., near the final resting place of Benjamin Bell. We all meet the last Sat. in May and Oct. We invite all other Pleasants to attend our meeting. Let us know if you are interested so we can add you to the mailing list. We currently have representatives from his children: Munroe, Buford, & Thomas that attend. We share a lot of information, search local cemeteries, courthouses and the Benjamin Bell property. By the way his barn still stands and the current owner will allow you to take a picture or two.
