Hi Gloria - If this is the Wisconsin (Coloma) Frank Ploetz and Bertha Holtz, yes. These were my grandparents. Two of their 15 children are alive and well and one is my mother in Cedarburg Wisconsin. Are you related thru Grandma or Grandpa? There is also a gal in Wisconsin whose husband is related to one of Grandpa's sisters, who has done a lot of research on the Ploetz line.

Hello again! August Ploetz was one of my grandfather's brothers and his wife that I believe you found reference to was Emma, nee Mots. According to the info my mother gave me, August and Emma had no children. So that line ends there. Thanks much anyway for your posts and good luck in your searches.

Re: Maria Ploetz's Brother's Name Christian

Glenn,

My great-great grandmother was a Ploetz from Mecklenberg to Roseville Mi in the early 50's. Her name was Louise Ploetz she was married to a Fuhrmann then a Gutow and she had 4 brothers Christian, Joseph, John, George. Your Marie b. 1828 may be part of this family since they lived in Roseville also and was born in a year that I have no one born in. Do any of these names mean anything to you. Are you still in the area? Louise is buried in St Peter Lutheran cem. in Eastpointe MI, and the others are buried at St John Lutheran cem. in Fraser MI. Do you think this is the family you are looking for. Let me know. My e-mail address is rteague1@flash.net

Rosemary

Rosemary

Response to Your Question

At this time, I don't see any connection. However, the info I do have is very, very minimal. All I know is this: Maria Ploetz was my g-g-g-grandmother, I have her birth and death dates, and I know she had a brother Christian Ploetz who owned a farm in the Roseville, Mich. area circa 1880. This doesn't mean we don't have a connection. It's just that our info is too small at this time.
