Hi Luanne,
In reference to my earlier reply dated 6/4/07 please disregard the information on the spelling of Catherine. I indeed have seen it spelled both ways. In checking the collection of pictures again, it's a Catharine on another side of my family, not a Plott. I really apoloize for any inconvenience.

Yes, it's rather confusing to alot of us to which Henry Plott connects with out line of descendants.

You mentioned that you've confirmed that Henry & Catherine are real & the dates & descendants are correct. Where were you able to find this information?

Thanks for all your researching...
Carol Early/Allen/Plott

Hi Luanne, Just read your posting, who is your grandfather? Is he Bryan S. Plott? My gr grandfather is John Newton Plott, therefore my grandfather is Clarence H. Plott, brother of Bryan.
I recently started this reseach after I came home with a box of very old Plott pictures that were my grandfathers. Many pictures have little written on the back & if so it's faded. I've been researching out the relationships of these people & have pictures of Simon, Elijah, & John Newton families.

I wasn't aware that Catharine b. abt 1757 was a Link. Is she related to Rebeccah Link who married Simon Peter Plott abt 1814 In VA? I've been under the impression that Catharine is a Entsminger. I do believe Catherine is spelled Catharine & even Simon's daughter Catharine b. abt 1834 in Indiana is spelled this way. In the collection of pictures her name is spelled Catharine. I wonder if these are indeed the same people.

The Plot thickness.... alittle humor here. Well one thing I do know the Plott's that I'm related to have humor & love to laugh.
Carol Early/Allen/Plott

I have viewed some records of your line in the Los Angeles County Recorder's Office. I have sent a message to you via the yahoo mailbox you posted in 2004 at rootsweb, but have not had a reply. I found you listed in the phone book; shall I call?

Please note that the web page mail form I used on this message is different than my mailbox previously used. I'm changing ISPs and this one will forward to whichever one is my current service. To reach me, use http://www.snarked.org/~kd6lvw/message.php

PS: I show TM Plotts as born in 1837 in or near Brown, OH, and living in Macomb, IL in 1860, Butler Co., KS in 1870, Wellington, KS in 1880, and moved to Los Angeles in 1881 or 1882.

Henry and Catherine Plott

I am from the same group of Plotts that you are looking for. I have just confimed that Henry and Catherine Link Plott did marry and had several kids. We are NO way related to the Plotts from the Carolina'a. I am also at a stopping point and don't know where to turn next. Some one mentioned Penn. Maybe I will start there. I have the family names coming from down from Henry is Simon, Elijah, John Newton, then down to my grandfather. But like i said i have confirmed that Henry and Catherine are real and the dates and kids are correct. Now we just need to keep going on further back. We will find it soon.....hopefully.
Luanne Plott Horting

You can find the information on the children here:
http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&...

Don't trust the next generation back, however. I have yet to prove that Joanna Badgley and James Byron Langdon were married in NJ when everyone seems to be stating they were. There was an 1805 marriage of Joanna Badgley and Moses Cherry, but not the other.

Hi Bill, thanks for answering! Have you ever talked to a Brent Shelton? I believe he has the same line.
Do you happen to know if you were descended from a Frederick,Johann or Adam or Phillip? Lori

PA Plotts Family

Help please. I'm trying to search the tree but have no clue on any relatives. My dad was John F. Plotts and my mom was Madeline Hoyles. I was born in Wilkes-Barre Pa in 1962, at Mercy hospital. I remember a gramma phillips and a great gramma tillie. I know that the info I have is weak but I would really like to know who my family is. Also if anyone knows of a Melvin Shaw from Horseheads NY that would also be of importance. Thank You

PLOTTS in Illinois

I am looking for more information on my gg grandfather Thomas Mitchell PLOTTS. He was born in Illinois(approx 1839)and lived in Macomb, McDonough county. He married Elizabeth Ann SMITH in 1859. They had 3 children and eventually moved to California. I do have some information, but would like to find out more about his parents and if he had any siblings.

I did find a Mary PLOTTS married to Charles DALLAM in same county. I am wondering if this might be a sister to Thomas

I am hoping someone out there is also researching this PLOTTS line.
