Hi Philip,

I am back with my notes. I'd be glad to answer any questions you have. I located two photos of your great-grandmother Mary/Mania Poberjesky SELDES. Also a mention of her in some old letters. I have her ancestors traced back a couple more generations if you are interested. Also, addresses of a few of your cousins if you don;t have them.

I;d be interested in any old photos you might have. Also you could help me fill in some dates and names on the SELDES, which i know little about.

Philip, Your 3x-greatgrandparents (Yonia and Mania POBERJESKY) were my 4x-greatgrandparents. That makes you and I 4th cousins once removed. But i think I can help you a little. I am away from my notes til Monday morning, but i think I have contact information for some of your closer cousins.

Your great-grandmother Mary is mentioned in a few old family letters I have from my side, and I think I have a photo or two of her (I need to double check).

Do you have any old family photos (say, pre-1920) of Mary or Philip SELDES or any of that generation? I'd love to see them if so. Let me know.

I'll check on your cousins Monday morn.

Philip and Mary Seldes were my great grand parents, Joseph and Anna Seldes were my grand parents, Daniel and Jean Seldes were my Parents get back to me asap please

Yonia (male) was probably the second youngest, born about 1897, when his mother was 48 o so.

Yonia was an engineer in Moscow at the times when he visited NY in 1931 and 32. He traveled with the name "Joseph Israelevitch Poberejsky."

Katia (1869-1939) may have been from Kirovograd (aka Elisavetgrad), Ukraine/Russia. She had a sister Rival POBERESKY who married a CHANKO.

Other relatives: Nathan and Peter in Brooklyn.

Pacy (male); Katia (1869-1940; md. SIEBEL); Mania (female); Revel (1875?-1961 FL; md. CHANKO); Pinia (male); Evelyn; Sioma (female); Sima / Sonia; Sulia; Jack/Jacob/Yasha/Jascha (m. Laura; Ethel); Yonia (male, remianed in Russia), Michel.

From Elizavetgrad area of Ukraine.

Nathan POBERESKY was a relative (prob. bro) to my Israel (SRul) POBERESKY. Nathan and his wife Bessie and 10-11 kids all ended up in NY. One child (prob. his oldest) was Mary (1878-1969) who married Philip SELDES in teh Ukraine. They ended up in Brooklyn. Any descendants of their kids out there? (Joseph and Anna Seldes, 1899-1961; David SELDES 1903-74; Clara/Clair SELDES c. 1906-?; Abraham SELDES 1907-88).

Love to exchange more info (I have LOTS on Mary's parents and siblings and cousins).
