While looking for the relatives of my Catherine Poehlman, b. 18 Mar 1840 in Oberkotzau, Bavaria, m. Charles Simon in Syracuse, NY, 23 Mar 1856, d. Sep 1928 in Syracuse, I extracted all people with the names of Poehlman, Pohlman, Pohlmann, Pollman, Pollmann and Polman in the censuses of New York for 1850 through 1880, and Syracuse for 1900, 1910, and 1930.
I didn't find my family, but did I find yours? There are 454 people in the database, including all those listed with those named Pollman.
