One known, one unknown connection

Hi Tom
I am wondering if you have any information that might fill in a couple of gaps for me. My family appears to be quite intermingled with the Poier's.
The known connection is my GG-grandaunt, Dorothy Speidel (b. 1863) who was married to Paul Poier (b. 1860) and they eventually moved to Saskatchewan. I don't know who Paul's parents are.
The second connection, which I am still trying to figure out, is through the Jacobi's of Osnabrock. This connection would actually be through marriage, but I'm hoping it might lead to more information. Somehow, Fred Jacobi's wife, Julia Berg, is related to a great-aunt of mine, Marie Berg, who was married to Jacob Haichert. The two women are possibly sisters. Fred's two sisters, Catherina and Mary, were both married to Poiers.
So, the information I would be very interested in, is regarding the family line of Paul Poier, and if you have any information on the Jacobi's, specifically Fred and his wife.

Thank you,
Heather Dunn

You can type in:
www.lib.ndsu.nodak.edu
OR
library.ndsu.edu
Their Main Page, will probably state the following:
WE'VE MOVED.
Scroll down and on the left side of the page you will see the following:
GENEALOGY & BIOGRAPHY - click on it.
Now you will have the following page:
NORTH DAKOTA NATURALIZATIONS RECORDS INDEX.
Type in the last name to get better results.

The website address has changed since I posted the original message. You an always type in Institute of Regional Studies, Fargo and get to the website.

Their phone number is 701-231-8914 and the staff people are very knowledgable. Good Luck in your research!
