*Old Stage Driver Dead. Moravia July 12 - William Polly, Noony Sanatorium in Cortland. Mr. Polly was born in this village and for many years operated a passenger stage between Auburn and Moravia. Thirty years ago he went to Cortland and has resided there ever since. For many years he was an engineer with the Wickwire Brothers Wire Mills.

The only surviving relatives are two nieces, Mrs. M. S. Wright and Mrs. C. V. Wright of Cortland, and one nephew, William Polly of Auburn. Mr. Polly was a member of the Cortlandville Lodge F. and A. M.

Funeral services were held Tuesday ........ at the residence of Herman Holcomb, 123 Tompkins St. "

Unfortunately, I don't have the name of the newspaper this appeared in nor the date. From another story that referred to someone's son enlisting in the war and awaiting orders for France, I would guess it is from 1917-1918.

If you know any of these men, would you please let me know. I'm interested in NY Polley families. Thanks.
