I am still left Pondering my Ponder line, and am yet not any closer to knowing where I belong nor how I fit in the Ponder families. Therefore, I am now calling all Ponders....Please help. My greandfather was Felix Ponder, he was married and had children with my grandmother, Martha Ann Jones, they divorced, and she later married a man named Alvious (also known as Al) Freeman. Felix Ponder was born in January of 1917, in Livingston, Kentucky, he was the son of Will & Jane Ponder. Felix died on July 2, 1985, at his home in Covington Indiana. Will & Jane I am told are both buried in Michigan City, Laporte County, Indiana. Will died in January of 1962, in Michigan City, Laporte County, Indiana. I was told that Will is uried in the Greenwood Cemetery in Michigan City, Indiana. As for the wife of Will, her first name was Jane, however, I am unsure of her surname. I do know that she was born August 11, 1884, and that she died in Michigan City, Laporte County, Indiana, and I was told that she to is buried in the Greenwood Cemetery in Michigan City, Indiana. Jane died in July of 1974. Felix was one of 8 children of Will & Jane Ponder. Two of Felix's sisters were named Ada, who married Lester F. Weatherbee, and the other is a woman named Betty, who married to a Hanlin. The obituary of Felix says that 5 brothers of his were preceded him in death, as well as a son, Eddie Ponder, and two daughters, I am unsure of the two daughters names that preceded Felix in death. Felix & Martha Ann Jones had 11 children, their daughters names that I do know for sure are Alma (Fern), Charlene, Phyllis, Louise, Joan or Joanne, Marylin, and their sons names are Norman & once again was Eddie. Louise was married to a Scearce at the time of her death in 1987. Phyllis died in Idaho in a fatal car wreck, a year or two before Louise died. Eddie was in his teens or early 20's when he passed away & I was told he had Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy. I have been grappling at straws and left pondering my Ponder line for a while now, and could really use some help, as I am at my witts end on this one. I know that there are 9 obituaries in the microfiche at the library in Michigan City Indiana, and three of them are Will Ponder, Jane Ponder, and Felix Ponder. I know that my Ponder family lived in Livingston Kentucky in January of 1917, from Felix's birth place, I also know that they were in Mount Vernon Kentucky in September of 1919, because that is where Ada, one of the children of Will & Jane was born. I also know that in Novemer of 1992, when Ada Ponder Weatherbee died, Betty Hanlin was said to be living in New Florence, Pa. This is pretty much all I know for sure about my Ponder family, so I am now calling out to all Ponder's, to PLEASE help me figure out my Ponder line. Thanks to all who took the time to read this.
