I have traced my line of Pools back to Peter S. Pool, and his father is Jacob? If so, who is Jacob's father? I have Jacob on the 1850 census, and the 20 years before a slot age correct if marked for a male. Peter S. Pool born 1826 fits that profile. Jacob on the census 1850 is 55 years old. I NEED SOME HARD FACTS! Thank you

My father was Noah Olvin (Bud) Pool. His father was Joseph "Joe" Fletcher Pool. My grandfather, Joe Pool, was a sister to Mary Hope-Pool. I have a picture of them with their parents, and brothers & sister. I remember my parents talking about Bumper, I have pictures of them also. I know this is an old post, but I just found it today.

It is very possible Sarah is the daughter of Samuel P. Pool. Sarah appeared on the 1860 census with the family, but not the 1870 census. Would be thrilling to find another of the family. MY grandfather always said Samuel raised two boys from each of his marriages, but nothing of the girls. I have tracked the boys, and only the girls from his second marriage (didn't have any from the third). Please contact me at helenb76@gmail.com

I'd like to know more about Samuel P. Pool and his family. I have Sarah Ellen Pool, born about 1853 in MS. She married Greenberry Shirley on 7-16-1868 in Pontotoc Co., MS. They are listed in the 1870 Pontotoc Co., MS census with their first child, Newton Shirley. She is listed as Elline Shirley in this census. I'm wondering if she is the Sarah Pool, born 1852, you have listed as a daughter of Samuel P. and Anna P. Pool. What are your thoughts on this?

Does anyone know who Peter Pool's parents were? Peter was born in the late 1700's in Virginia. What was Caroline's maiden name and whoo were her parents? Peter and Caroline had a daughter named Pattie Pool (born around 1867) who married Grant Williamson (born 1865) in Mecklenberg County, Virginia.

I have some info on a Pool family in Annan that may have some connection. Matthew Pool was married to Marion Miller. I have found 2 sons so far, William born 1841, who was married twice, Ann Lawson and Anne Jane Ker and John born 1849, who married Margaret A. Kirkpatrick both sons were born in Topping Hall Annan Dumfries Scotland. I noticed one of your relatives had a christian name Miller. Many children born in the British Isles used the mother's maiden name when naming children. I haven't worked out the connection but it appears there maybe a connecting thread. The families appear to be born in Topping Hall, St. John's Place and Maryfield Annan Dumfries Scotland. I hope this info helps your research.

I have a marriage certificate for the second marriage of William Pool as his first wife, Ann LAwson, died abt 1890. He married Anne Jane Ker Sept. 18, 1894, Page 12, No. 23, in the District of Annan in the County of Dumfries. His parents were Matthew Pool and Marion Pool (M.S. Millar) who are also the parents of John Pool.

I may have a Pool connection to John. I have a family of William Pool, born abt 1841, Topping Hall, Annan, Dumfries, Scotland who was married to Ann Lawson, born abt 1843, died 1890. They had at least 4 children, Marion A. born abt 1872, Annan, Margaret J. born abt 1877, Annan, Annie born abt 1882, Annan and John born abt 1885, Annan. Their mother Ann (nee Lawson) died 1890. Subsequently William their father married Anne Jane Kerr Sept. 18, 1894 in St. John's Place, Annan. They had 1 child, Hugh born Jul. 18, 1897, Maryfield, Annan.
Hugh married my aunt, Mary Mercer Wright Dow, Sept. 13, 1925, Grangemouth, Scotland. I had trouble sorting this family out until I realized Ann (Lawson) had died and William remarried again. I hope the above is helpful.

Pool in Hardin Tennessee

Working on my wifes family and managed to get an Archibald/Archie/Arch Pool 1850 Census stating he was born in North Carolina. He was in Hardin Tn until 1820 and then I lose him. He was born in 1795 +/- 2 and was married to a Caroline who was born in Tennessee according to her 1850 census. Any help with a relationship in North Carolina prior to 1820 would sure help.

Hi It looks like we may be distantly related. My Grandfather John Pool's address on his marriage document was Toppinghall Annan, His father was Matthew Pool deceased when the marriage took place March 11 1878 at Woodhead Dornock Scotland. He was 29 and his mother was Marion Pool, maiden surname Millar. My grandmother was Margaret Agnes Kirkpatrick. She was 19 at the time of the marriage. Her father was James Kirkpatrick and mother Margaret Kirkpatrick maiden surname Rodick deceased at the time of the marriage.

Yes, my great grandfather's, John Quincy ADAMS, (b. 3 June 1833 St. Clair Co, ALA-d. 12 Apr 1902 Sonora, Sutton, TX, md Mary Ann SHEEN) parents were Henry ADAMS and Susan HANEY. Henry & Susan were married 15 Sep 1830 in St. Clair County, Alabama.

John & Mary had 12 children. I descend through John & Mary Sheen Adams daughter Annie Laura ADAMS who married my grandfather Walter Porter KYLE.

How are you related to them?

Hello, If anyone have any info please respond. Ann Pool is from Ireland and she had a daughter named Emma Pool. Emma married Floyd Hargraves and had lots of children (between 8-10 of them). One of their sons' name was Doyle.
