The website by Mike and June Everheart, at http://www.tyler.net/everheart/IsomCraddick.htm
, has biographies and pictures of Isom Warren (I.W.) Craddick, my grandfather's stepfather. I am grandson of William Samuel Leslie who was the son of Frances (Fannie) Ann Glover and George C. Leslie. William Samuel Leslie's parents divorced when he was very young. His mother remarried to I.W. Craddick. William Samuel Leslie lived with his mother and stepfather I.W. Craddick until he was about 12 years old, when he moved away because of disagreements with his stepfather. He stayed with and worked for first a Dr. Bell in Doyle about a year and then George Cabiness until he was grown. My father, the late Rev. Reuben Leslie, Sr., passed on many stories about childhood pranks and games that W.S. Leslie and his stepbrother Clayton played. I learned from him that W.S. Leslie stayed close to his Craddick step- and half-siblings all his life, returning frequently to his mother's home to chop wood and help out, even though he did not live with them after he reached the age of 12.
I'm running down leads on the ancestry of Fannie Glover Craddick, including her grandfather Rev. John Pierce (or Pickens?) Richardson, who was pastor at County Line Baptist Church. I would be happy to share some if you're interested. I believe the Glovers are from Giles County TN and the Richardsons are from Lawrence County TN, but I'm unable to confirm or go further back yet. I'm also trying to find out more about George C. Leslie, William Samuel Leslie's father and Fannie Craddick's first husband (about whom I know the lineage but not the biography) so I would very much appreciate any leads you might have about him too. I have posted a website with some general Leslie family history resources at http://www.io.com/~rlsd/leslie.htm
