My husband's great-grandfather Maximovich was born in Curug, Batchka (a territory in Austria-Hungry Empire) just before 1900. His parents were Serbian. His mother had Russian roots.

I am trying to find some information on a POPOV who married Victoria Hatsumi Takashima maybe in the late 1970's or 1980's, in California. I have no info on the Popov except that name appears in some of the records I have been able to find on Victoria.
Do you happen to have any iformation on any of these people?

I am currently doing my family tree and great great grandfather Ivan Popov married to Anna Androsova, son Alex John lived in Blaine Lake, Sask.
Ivans parents where Simeon Popov and Paranya Nichvolodova
Simeons dad was Leon .... Paranya father was Vasya

I traced the line to Tambov region, possibly Goreloe in Russia. Later in the 18th century due to repressions by Katherine the 2nd, molokans were forced to occupy a small region in the Tavriya Step, near city if Zaporozchye Ukraine.
Looking for anyone tracing their ancestry to those regions, particularly carrying the same last name - Popov.

I just began researching my grandfather that came from Macedonia born about 1899. His father was a Macedonian priest. I have no idea what town they came from. My grandfather moved to Canada, US then Argentina. Any info on how to locate information in the Macedonia area would be appreciated.

Would Andy Popov have known Peter and Irma Kiss? Could there be any relation? Peter and Irma had three children.....Miklos, Yolan (Yolanda) and Emma and would have lived in NY around 1923. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hello...for some reason I did not receive your post. I was looking in the POPOV message board and saw your reply.

I have not deeply researched my POPOV/POPOFF relatives as of yet. Alot of them changed their last name to POPOFF.
My relatives congregated in California. The only POPOFF I have that could be a relation is deceased. POPOFF, Vassil, born 9/23/1888 in Russia and died 7/13/1949 in Napa County, California, age 60

im peter alexander popoff jr... my dad is peter popoff. and my grandfather is Peter Popoff son of Alexander Popoff and Anna. Hence my name Peter Alexander Popoff. I think you and my dad are cousins since your fathers are both brothers. Yes, I have talked to people from Lerin and its surrounding areas.

I replied to the name of Popov - not from what country they belonged, as I think it is an interesting name.

Maybe you have more information on Popovo...
