My g-great grandfather, John Porche, came into America and traveled from Natchez, Louisiana to the mountains of NC (around 1830). I cannot seem to tie him in with any of the other Porche families out of Louisiana, though he may have brought relatives with him from Nancy, France, or even had children in Louisiana. Any help in this area would be appreciated.

There seems to be two distinct Porche lines coming from Louisiana. My g-great grandfather, John Porche arrived in America around 1830. He lived in Natchez, Louisiana, and SC, and Florida, before settling in the mountains of NC. I would like to (possibly) tie these two families together, or at least see if I have any cousins in Louisiana, or elsewhere. Any help you could give me would be much appreciated.

My g-great grandfather, John Porche, arrived in America c. 1830, and lived for awhile in Louisiana, then traveled to Florida and South Carolina, before eventually settling in the mountains of NC.

I don't know if we could be related, but my Porche ancestor came in to America via New Orleans, and lived for a while in Natchez, La, as well as SC and Fl before settling in the mountains of NC. He immigrated to America aaround 1830. His name was John Porche from Nancy, France; father, Joseph Porche, and mother, Catherine Martin (Martyn?).

Hi my name is Steve Lanusse and Aunt May and Uncle Robert were my grandmother's sister and brother in law.
I knew them fairly well since they used to come down to los angeles every few years and visit.
I used to visit them before Aunt May died in Santa Rosa before and after they were in the home for seniors by the mall.
My grandmother was Aunt May's older sister, Myrtle and there were 2 other sisters, Irene and Honey Porche (Louise),
who married your GGrandfather Robert's brother, Ralph.
I have a lot of info. and photos of all of these people.
I too was the family "historian" and was always asking questions as a child about our family.
I have photos of May's parent's, Cecile and Edgar Bozant, and am in touch with the children of Ralph and Honey Porche and can give you their info. and you can get photos of Uncle Robert's parents (I might have one photo of them).
I hope you are still interested in the family and will contact me soon.

Donald D. Brown was born in 1946, and passed-away in 1999. His last residence was Edna, Texas. Does anyone know if he was related to SINCLAIR BROWN who was born about 1878 in Texas, and died in 1970 in Edna, TX?

Mr. Sinclair Brown was related to Ann Brown. She married around 1880 to George Gayle. They lived in Jackson County and then moved later to Inez, Texas.

Iam trying to find information on the Gayle and Brown families of Edna and of Inez, TX. Please contact me if you are related to any of these two families. Thank you

The desendants of Pierre Porsche had a reunion on June 24 in Yoakum Texas, it was a small turn out but we are hoping our 45th reunion next year will turn out more. We did make a website to keep more updated for next family reunion

Porches in California looking for New Orleans roots

My great-grandfather was Robert Francis Porche (born Mar 11, 1905) and he was married to May Bozant in 1927. He was born in New Orleans, and they lived there with their two daughters until 1943 when he was sent to San Francisco to work on war planes during WWII. Does anyone out there think they might be related to this branch of the Porche family? Unfortunately, Papa died before I could sit him down and grill him about his relatives, so I don't have any names. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would love to swap info with you and if possible a copy of that picture that you have of my great grandmother Celina would be a treasure. From what I know, Celina was first married to a person with last name Boutte and had children. I will List them later with correct spellings. She later married a Perrault (Perro is the correct pronunciation). They were from Louisiana by way of France and Canada. I'll have to find out more info to know what I need. All I know, according to a third party, is that "Grandma Allen married a Porche, he was a Southerner and fought for the Union in the Civil War and the family disinherited him". The next generation of Allens (Laurance Porche Allen) lived in Dade, Volusia and Brevard Co. FL. I can't find out much more and the ones who know have become impossible to reach. Help!

I came across your posting. My great grandmother was Marie (Marie) Etna Porche. She had a sister that was named Celina. I was told she married a Perro? On the back of a picture of her that was given to me I wrote her name the way it sounded. Later I thought could the last name be Perrault? Celina Porche's parents were Hypolite Porche and Emma Tounoir. Does this tie to your Celina? They were from Louisiana.Would like to share info.

Hi Jan, I hope you get this message. I don't want to be an undue burden but I am in Florida and would love to come to La, if I ever retire and get the time. My Grandfather was Emile Barras Porche, b: 13 Nov 1864 in Houma. His parents were Evariste Porche and Ruth Marie Magdeleine Smith, they were married 24 July 1860 at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Houma. My father Evariste Torrance Porche was born in Donaldsonville, La in 1890, sometime around 1900+ or - my Grandparents divorced or separated. I know Emile was in Donaldsonville when my father was born in August 1890 but I am unable to locate any further information on him beyond my father's birth. If you have any information that would help I would be most appreciative. Thank you for any help you may be able to provide.

Our Porche's are from the mountains of NC, but I am looking for a tie-in between LA and other states, and NC. My great-great grandfather arrived in LA around 1800, I think. I have been researching the Porche name, also. (Leon Eugene Porche married to Mary Bouis). I have found a great source of information - the Diocese of Baton Rouge Catholic Church records. These books are in the Alexandria (LA) Genealogical Library. If you need any help, let me know.
