My grandfather's name was Feliciano Porras. He and his wife Bisenta Sosa lived in Fort Stockton, Texas with their children, Francisco, Natividad, Francisca, Virginia, and Jose. The family moved to Presidio, Texas in 1928 where Feliciano had purchased some farmland. However, by June 1929, he died from appendicides. I have found no birth records yet, and I don't know where he came from. But, I do know that he had an older brother named Ponciano who was sheriff in Redford, Texas. Curriously, I have found no birth, nor death records on Ponciano but did find information about him in other records belonging to another individual in Fort Stockton. I am told that Ponciano left to Las Cruces to escape Anglo threats to kill him. Also, there was another sibling by the name of Maria Antonia who married a Tomas Chavez. Currently, I am searching for information on any one of these people.
