Surnames: Porter, Brent, Hansford,
Hello, I would like to hear from you and willing to share all that I know on the Porter Family. I have Nicholas Porter and Sarah Hansford and his parents Benjamin and Ann Campbell in my database. My 3rd great grandfather was Philip Porter from VA who married Nancy Ann Brent, and his son Charles Brent had a son Charles W. who married Jane Hansford. It seems that Philip could be a half brother to Nicholas Brent Porter b 1763 who also settled in Shelby Co. KY just as Philip did. Nicholas Brent Porter father was Nicholas Porter b 1725 who married Mary Brent in 1760 and it seems possible that Nicholas Porter could have married prior to the marriage of 1760 to Mary Brent. If this is possible, then Nicholas Porter may be the father of my Philip Porter b. 1754 in Alexandria, Fairfax Co. VA. Being that Philip Porter grandson Charles W.Porter also married a a Jane Hansford in Ky, this might prove to be a good connection. I have been searching since 1972 and cannot prove this connection thus I cannot claim it I would rally appreciate your contacting me at himesd12@gmail.com thank you Dottie Porter Himes. or call me at 361-241-2325 thanks so much.
