Hi Steve, I have Porters from the Berkshire Co. MA area. There are many Porters in that northern part of MA and some in VT also. My Alanson Porter migrated from MA to Jefferson Co. NY sometime in the early 1800's. Don't worry about the seeming vastness of the area. People back then got around almost as well as we do today. Good luck. Let me know how you do. Sally
